Big congrats on this! I've always wanted to see an actual drop of this mini. I used to farm Watchtower Coast over and over again. I once got a Firebrand but that was it.

On your video, at around 5:16, when talking about the Confessor minis, you state, "It's pretty hard to tell you the prices of these minis for several reasons. One is the low amount of minis circulating in the market and the other reason people try to scam you in Kamadan with such rare items." Can you elaborate on this? What exactly is the scam involved with these minis?

Your title is Economy Discussion and then your question is "Is Guild Wars going to die soon? Legacy is like dead comparing to last year." That seems like two separate topics, or maybe even three.

    1. This is what happens to the economy because of botting and real money traders. Most people are okay with it. It's the reality we live in and must learn how to adapt to it or quit the game (or at least that economical aspect of the game - it's perfectly fine to play the game without participating in the high-end economy). Adapting to it doesn't necessarily mean joining them, but watching price trends and making good long-term decisions. Even then, it's impossible to keep up with what the bots and real money traders are able to do, but as I said it's the game we now live in, and as long as people are willing to buy items from botters for real money, that aspect of the economy will thrive.

    2. We don't know the answer to if Guild Wars is going to die. Everquest just passed it's 25th year anniversary this year. I believe as long as the servers are up Guild Wars may make it to 25 years. At some point the game will become obsolete, but we don't know that date.

    3. Legacy seems more inactive and I think that may be because a lot of people are now moving to Reddit and Discord servers to chat about the game and make sales and trades. Also there is a black market forum that people seem active on but I don't participate in that forum or even watch it - but I hear a lot of people mention it.

For these items, we can't really establish a PC in the traditional sense. The best way to approach this is to use a "last sold" price. That is, if the buyer and seller are willing to disclose the trade. I realize these items are often traded on the black market which I strongly abhor; however, that's the reality we live in. Given that's the case, rather than list the "last sold" price perhaps we should list a "last sold in-game" price. Or as a last resort, convert the black-market price into an arms equivalent. Of course, this information would have to somehow be verified by a trusted source.

Serious buyer. PM me which in-game items you would take in trade for these miniatures.

    1) I will need to see the miniature you have for sale before entering serious negotiations.

    2) I'd prefer that the trade be conducted in the trade window as opposed to using a middle-man. For example: Mini X + Mini Y + Armbraces for Mini Z.

    3) For miniatures that are valued beyond 1750a, I may need time to procure the items that you're interested in as part of the trade.

    4) I'm willing to offer a 50a finder's fee for anyone that can put me in touch with a seller of an Unded Kanaxai, Panda, Island Guardian, or Mad Kings Guard AND a trade results. The 50a will be awarded after the completion of a successful transaction.

    Thank you!

So I too love me some PvP and I will give you the lowdown. Random arenas is like you said bots, farming titles. I encourage you to report them because Anet still does ban bots. There are a few legit players still trying to play RA but shy away from the martyr bots so just report them. A friend of mine reported every bot they saw in JQ which was proceeded by zkey prices spiking, and a few weeks later were literally 1/4th the amount of bots.

Gosh I wish we knew what was going on at Arenanet regarding this. They've never banned anyone I've reported to my knowledge, and they've even admitted in the past that their report function didn't function as intended. Having said that it's pretty awesome that they banned 75% of the accounts that your friend reported. Do you know if your friend had several accounts that he reported them on? Just trying to figure out what your friend may have done differently to get the report function to work.

Any Gold or Green EL Tonic 5e/ea.

    Presearing Staves:

The stat I'm interested in is HCT = Halves Casting Time

Blue Dead Staves HCT Any% (these only drop from Hidden Stashes) 10k/ea or 10e post.

    Holy Staff HCT 18% Smite
Smiting Staff HCT 18% Divine Favor

    Elementalist:
    Water Staff HCT 9% All
    Air Staff HCT 9% All

A percentage number followed by the "+" sign means that I'm looking for a mod with that number value or higher. For example, if I need an Earth HCT 12%+ that means any number 12% or higher will work (I'm buying these mostly as placeholders until I find higher stats).

Keep in mind there are two Earth Staff skins. Go to presearing.com and click on weapons: weapon skins: and scroll down to Staves to see what I'm referring to.

    Air: HCT Air 15%+
    Air: HCT Fire 14%+
    Air: HCT Earth 13%+
    Air: HCT Water 18%

    Fire: HCT Air 18%

    Earth (Core): HCT Fire 15%+
    Earth (Core): HCT Earth 16%+
    Earth (Core): HCT Water 12%+

    Earth (Obsidian): HCT Air 12%+
    Earth (Obsidian): HCT Fire 18%

    Earth (Obsidian): HCT Water 12%+

I'm offering up to 1BD/25e on the non- primary attribute staves depending on the HSR%.

For the Fire HCT I'd start my offer at 5BD but willing to pay more depending on the other stats - pm me your price.

    Thank you!

Personally i don't think that the priority right now is to make an update but more to ban the bots i'm not asking to ban all the bots but to make a small clean up for example in ha sometimes you have to wait 45minute to fetid because there are too many bot.

Agreed. If Anet decides to do anything in this game, their first priority should be eliminating the bots and real money traders.

I'm very impressed by this. How were you able to survive for so long? What kind of escape plan or preventative measures did you have for yourself in case of an emergency? Just the fact that you got Legendary Survivor like this is impressive. You should not retire the character and continue as Iron Gwamm, as there are still many challenges that will present themselves, maybe even try for 50/50 HoM as an Iron-player.

I'm looking for items to use as placeholders in high end trades.

I'm curious as to what you all consider as universally accepted items within a 250a-1000a price range.

Please state the item and the price range that most people would value the item at when used in a trade.

These should be items that most people would be willing to accept in a high end trade and not an extremely niche item.

Of course everyone wants Arenanet's involvement, but it would definitely be better if we initially discussed all the issues as a community, since you are writing on its behalf.

Our main mutual goal is to increase the number of active players, this should be quite obvious from the letter.

In General, I really like your idea of writing a letter to the company, and I am grateful for your work, but let 's jointly tweak the letter itself a little;)

Hey Ve_Zz, I really appreciate and value your input, and anyone else who has taken this letter into consideration.

I did ask in a previous thread if there was any questions the community had for Arenanet.

It is a pity to see that such a great idea has not found its implementation. In my opinion, the situation with isolation could greatly play into our hands. Can we try to reach a consensus and finish the job? Most of the work has already been done, we just need to make certain adjustments and then we can spread the information about collecting signatures on Reddit and in the game. I understand that everyone was left with a residue after difficult discussions of this issue. But we are all United by one common desire and we can easily formulate our appeal in such a way that everyone will be satisfied.

The letter is not perfect, but I will not re-write the letter, as I'm sure many will take issue with the next re-write, and then the next re-write after that.

Through this process, I realized that we do not have a main mutual goal - or perhaps the majority of the community does, but I just happen to be an outlier.

I would encourage anyone else to give this a shot! I will not take offense if my letter is replaced by someone else's and receives more signatures.

Thank you all, it's been fun!

Thank you all for taking the time to read the letter.

I realize that many of you do not want Arenanet's involvement; considering their involvement would at the very least require game moderation (i.e., confronting illegal game activity), and many of you openly support illegal game activity.

Since that is the case then we are at an impasse as a community.

For those of you who are concerned about the line "monthly subscription fee," if you'll read the context of that paragraph you'll see that the letter is in no way advocating a monthly subscription fee; rather it is requesting what kind of resources on the community's behalf it would take for Arenanet to support the game in any capacity.

Nevertheless, that paragraph would still serve the same purpose if those three words were taken out so I'd be happy to do so.

EDIT: It has now been removed from the letter.

Hello all, the open letter petition to Anet is now live!

    https://guildwarslegacy.com/open-letter/

Firstly, major props to Kevin for making the webpage for the letter. He took the time to set it up as it's own page, in a format that will allow people to sign the form.

The intention of this letter is not a "wish list" or "want list" of pretty things or updates we'd like to see in the game; it is more of a request that Arenanet and it's developers play a more active role in Guild Wars and the Guild Wars community again. Baby steps, people - we don't want to bombard them with a smorgasbord of our wildest Guild Wars update dreams.

To sign the petition, please register in the comment box and type "/signed." Please use the comment box on the petition only for signing or positive phrases regarding our love for Guild Wars and hope for future updates.

If you'd like to talk about the letter, debate, have friendly conversation, express future hopes and dreams for the game, or what have you - please post in this thread.

    Thank you!

I am not wealthy enough to worry about which currency to use, but I have a friendly question: why do you place emphasis on the function of those six different currencies? As far as I understand, it does not matter so much what a currency's actual worth or use is, but only the actual supply/demand no matter what reasons people might have to supply or demand it. Additionally, it is easier to say '4a' than to say '1000k' but that might just be personal preference.

Great question! I place emphasis on those specific currencies because those are what are commonly traded as currency in the game - with the possible exception of lockpicks, however there has been lots of speculation on lockpicks in particular as a currency-type item. Are there any others that I am missing? There are black dyes in Pre-Searing but that's a different topic. And I agree, the value of these currencies (with the exception as lockpicks because they have a stable in game price determined by the NPCs) is only determined by the perceived value - which is the whole point of the topic! The perceived value of ecto shouldn't be so high.

And I liked that little bit of history!

I hold all my wealth in lockpicks, though it's not much atm. I can imagine people with 100a would find it annoying to have their bank full of lp-stacks, but other than that lps are the superior currency. Only real problem is that they're hard to sell since you can buy them for 1.2k from merchants, if they became the new de facto ecto they would probably drop in price to like 850g (since they sell for 750 to merchants). That would make 1 stack worth 212k compared to 1 ecto stack being worth 5-6 times more. So peoples banks would fill up too quickly.

The main reason lockpicks would become the new de facto ecto would be if ecto plummeted to 1k or lower, so therefore holding lockpicks in inventory would make more sense than holding ecto, when their purchasing power is about the same, or better, and they will be more stable. That's why I believe people will transition of out ecto, into lockpicks - and if they need to conserve storage space they can convert to Gold Z Coins, Zkeys, and Armbraces.

If I remember correctly, they did this a while ago as well, and then in a few days. Poof! the bots were back. Think they just clean house every so often (just my observation). I would wait a few days and see if they return.

Yes but it's been a month!

Because I have no idea what bot forum you are talking about; yes I am that ignorant of such things.

Let's have a friendly discussion on the functionality of currency in the current state of the game.

    1) Armbraces: Their function is to be traded for Tormented weapons. Their value comes from the fact that they are used for high end trades, or simply for those who want to save space by converting their other currencies into Armbraces. I don't see much of a demand for Tormented weapons these days, and most trades under 30a can be done with ectos or zkeys. To break it down even further, any trades under 175a could be done with Gold Z Coins. So the true value in Armbraces is only reserved for trades of over 175a, which are very few. Does this support the current demand for Armbraces? Are they accurately priced at 55-60e/ea? Or are people simply used to the fact that Armbraces are the highest end currency?

    2) Zkeys: Their function is to open the Z chest. With the exception of the rarest items (such as an Everlasting Beetlejuice tonic), Z chest drops have a very low value, so I highly doubt people are opening the chest to gamble; most open the chest for the title. What is it that is so enticing about the Z rank title? It serves no function other than an HoM statue, at rank 3. The title has become so devalued that it's not impressive to see people with a z 12 title. Often, people with such titles are accused of gold-buying or botting, which further devalues the title for the people who achieved it legitimately. Are Zkeys accurately priced in relation to Ecto? In relation to plat?

    3) Ectos: Their function is to craft Obsidian armor and Chaos gloves. Are crafting these items still important to the player-base nowadays? Occasionally an old player will log in and say "I've always wanted Obby," but are there enough Obby-seeking players out there to justify that Ecto is still being used as a currency? People are simply used to Ecto as a currency, as there is no real value to it anymore. It's simply not any more valuable than the craft materials used for Vabbian armor. In fact, I'd argue that it's the most common currency in the game now since so many people have stacks and stacks of it, and therefore is the least valuable material. Ectos have been on a downtrend in relation to plat for the past several years. Will it continue to go down in price?

    4) Z Coins: Their function is to be traded in for multiple items which serve a purpose, rather than cosmetic. I'd argue that these are the most highly functional currencies in game. Their sink is pretty big, with items like runes to expand your bags, heavy equipment packs, tomes, and more. Are they currently priced accurately? Why are they priced in ecto and not in plat? Why are they not used as a form of currency more often in place of ectos and arms? Will Silver and Gold Z coins replace them as a currency - or is the populace too attached to Ecto?

    5) Lockpicks: Their function is to open chests. Chest running serves two purposes - finding treasure, and filling a title track. I'd make the case that the reward for your return on chestrunning is much greater than opening the Z chests. For a much lower rate than a zkey, you get gold drops that you can sell unidentified, or ID them and sell the mods. You also have a chance of getting a nice skin, or an OS weapon or shield that can be sold on the market - No crème brulees here. I suppose it's up to the player if they value the Treasure Hunter title over the Z rank title. The Z rank title has the emote, but I personally find the treasure hunter title more prestigious, as the player more than likely worked for it. Also, the lockpick value is predetermined by the game. Lockpicks will always be stable and never fluctuate in price in relation to plat. Lockpicks are a very safe way to preserve your money as a hedge against inflation; sort of like precious metals IRL. It also seems to make more sense to me that people would use lockpicks as a currency over Ectos, when Lockpicks are much more stable.

    6) Gold: Their function is to buy lots of useful items from the Guild Wars NPCs; highly functional. The obvious issue with gold is that Guild Wars has a cap on how much gold one can carry, and therefore is not conducive to trades with other players valued over 100,000 gold.

Trades over 100 plat should theoretically be done with Lockpicks & Z Coins. I don't even see where Armbraces fit into the equation. They're not nearly as functional; but perhaps they're harder to farm and therefore considered more valuable. Many of the sellers of the super high end minis will not even accept Armbraces as trade anyhow. I certainly can't find anyone willing to take my Arms for their minis. So my Armbraces are in effect, worthless to me, since I only bought them to acquire the high end minis.

Disclaimer: I have no vested interest in Lockpicks or Z coins at the moment, as I've liquidated them all for Armbraces (which as you can see above, was not for investment purposes, but for the acquisition of high end minis).

I would like to here all of your thoughts!

Hi all, as most of you know, I've always been a strong advocate against bots, but it is not the intention of this thread to have a debate on botting, rather, I'm curious as to how much of a reduction in bots there has been since the update that happened around a month ago which reportedly killed a lot of bots.

I've heard that there are no bots in JQ, but there are still bots in HA. The Kamadan decltype bot has been down as well. What other information do you all have? Are PvE bots down? Are there still bots in GvG? The gold sellers are still up and running and I'm guessing they run a script of some sort to spam their messages.

If, indeed, there has been a mass reduction of bots, does this foreshadow that Arenanet will become more active in the game? Or do you suppose this is a "one and done" type-deal?
