Great Question.

Personally, I rotate across all possible Q8 NM maps, this just happened to be one of the NF ones I like, others will be posted in the future.

Not all maps I run may suit the interest of other players but would at least be an option.

From a skin perspective, there are specific skins that would be cool to get. Out of the 578 chests I opened here, I have not yet gotten a Colossal Scimitar, but in theory could possibly drop here but until I see one, it's "plausible". I would love to…

In theory, gold items can drop as low as Q3, I wouldn't think there would be any reason other than extreme rarity that this couldn't still drop today.

I assume when you say noob island, it was one of the 2 locations in red below.....

These have been known to drop Q8s. I am aware of both a Q8 Max Adamantine Falchion and Adamantine Shield that were dropped from one of these 2. The rest below with ?'s are the ones that a Q8 has never been reported from and the belief is that the level from these are too high.

Hi all,

First thing, thanks to everyone who has contributed to the prior list of Swords, Shields, and Foci. This includes Hairy Knight and PyroLobster for their recent contributions.

After more thought, and inspired motivation from seeing others interested in this run, I decided to dig into my archives and update the skin list to include all weapon types. Even though this was originally intended to be for Swords, Shields and Foci since they are the only types that drop Max Q8, I was also interested in seeing the options for other types since there are other collectors besides myself that may be interested in Q8 18-34 hammers, Q8 6-27 Axes, etc.

I also received a list from TongTong of his own drops from this run which I incorporated into this list.

As a result, there has been 10 Foci, 6 Shields, and 1 Sword added to the list. These can be found followed by (new).

My excitement has grown after seeing how many different skins (239) have been found at Barbarous Shore.

Unfortunately, there is no value in this item between the 2x1-off (Max is 14-25) and the non-max mod.

If you get a Q7 with perfect DMG and Inherent Modded Celestial Longbow, there may be some interest, myself included

Hey!

The Ghostly Staff page has been an annoyance for others as well as it does falsely list some of the attributes that do not drop in current day (prenerf is always a different story).

As far as the Inscripted ghostly staff, Neutral_CH did some research and shared some related info (including the mention of this Wiki Fail), you will also find on this page the method of chest running for the Inscripted Ghostly STaves, Eternal Shields, Storm Bows and Eternal Bows.

Of course, it could be better but not bad for my first perfect dual shield drop in a while....

Nowadays, of course, I regret having sold it back then (for 100k+100e, a mere fraction of what a correct one would've been at the time), but it's out there somewhere. I may have a screenshot of it on an old flash drive, but that will take some digging. Will get back to you on that.

But I was under the impression that this sort of bug could still happen? Maybe not exclusively with/because of a deathbane mod, but just in general? Is that not the case?

Edit: I assume this is what happened to the Obsidian/Runic Pleikki mentioned as well.

Ah yes, good call, this definitely sparked an old memory, I can see this being the root cause to some of the more rare skins and potentially the more common ones as well.

It obviously is still up for debate lol, but from a "drops today" perspective, this is one of those things I think we would all want to see happen in front of our own eyes to be able to confirm the possibility (and if it does, maybe the deathbane issue was never fully resolved).

Just like those that claim that Q8 max bows and daggers still drop, my response is the same, due to the rarity, I would believe it being a current drop with actual proof (screenshots with post nerf gear, etc). Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend anyone to spend time trying to farm one as you might lose ALOT of picks doing so.
