There is also the matter of sword skins arguably looking aesthetically more appealing than most axe skins, especially in the case of a caster weapon.

It's worth more than 10a but not a whole lot. The first mod is below 50% and the skin is'nt the best either. Imo it's worth around 20a ~

just before you fall for a trap dozens other returning players have with their dope items: the broad sword is a KILLER it will likely fetch 2000a+ which is about 100000ecto. so don't think a pm with a 300a offer seems too good to wait any further - put it for auction, take your time and claim the profit yourself that else someone reselling will take.
It's a lovely skin but it's not prenerf. Botters could still drop one any day. I doubt it's gonna reach 2k+ but only a public auction will tell
