  • Returning player after 15 years – where should I start?

    Hi everyone!

    I’ve recently returned to Guild Wars after around 15 years away, and I honestly feel like I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing 😂

    I played a lot years ago, but I’m realizing that I probably never really understood many of the game mechanics properly even back then.

    Coming back has also been a huge nostalgia trip. I still remember winter mornings playing during the Halloween events, with all the pumpkins and rabbits everywhere, or Christmas holidays from school when I could spend entire days playing GW.

    I also remember occasionally doing missions with friends, and sometimes going down to the Underworld with them. I would just sit there amazed at how much they knew about the game compared to me 😂 I basically followed them around hoping I wouldn’t mess anything up.

    And now, almost 20 years later, here I am again. Nostalgia level: 1000.

    I’ve just discovered this forum, so I was wondering: is there a specific thread or guide here for newbies or returning players who have been away for a very long time? Something like a “GW1 for beginners” or “things you should know after coming back” guide?

    I’d really love to properly understand the game this time instead of just wandering around and somehow surviving 😅

    I’m back in Guild Wars after about 15 years away. I played around 20 years ago, although I’m starting to think I never really learned how to play properly 😂

    I’ve just discovered this forum, so maybe with your help I’ll finally learn this time!
