The real problem here is that there were legitimate players who spent years farming and grinding to afford these minis through honest means. All of that effort is now wiped out overnight.
Maybe instead of devaluing everything, we address the real issue: the rampant botting that has infiltrated nearly every part of the game.
As far as the legitimate owners go, well I'd like to hear what they think. Many of them have had their minis exclusively for 10 years+ and are truly collectors and held on to them for sentimental value and not for the purpose of flipping them for real dollars - so in that instance I'm not even sure this update effects them.
I have several high-end minis from legitimate playing. Albeit, very unique and I would bet no other could claim my method. My income was purely from selling trims and tips/donations from trade moderating. Sure I had some good income from the halls chest and zkeys that came with it. But I am satisfied none of it came from spending $ on it. I was never good at power trading, probably because I had zero interest in it.
I have had countless offers to buy the minis, but when you have that much money - what good does stacks of armbraces do for me? Even now stacks of armbraces sit there with little to no interest in anything to spend it on. So when some of my minis tank in virtual value, what is a loss of a few thousand armbraces when I have plenty more still sitting there to buy anything I could need?
My true thoughts? Feed the people the minis. Enjoy them. For me it has been all about the journey and not what collects dust in my stash.
Also, sorry to hear you were a fellow hacked. Lost the first half of my GW hard work from social engineering as many may know. I echo much of your post x100.
