Reforged made me replay all the campaigns and quests while reading all the quest texts etc. - something I didn't do as a 14 year old. I am planning on playing through all remaining pve content as well. - Even if the player count might decline again Reforged is already totally worth it.

I already said in post #18 and in the edit that I only trade the shield after having received the full amount. I won't do moderated trades. If that's a problem, just offer 1500a+ item or retract your bids, please.
Sasha I don't have a problem with you calling for a moderated trade. I have a problem with you making several laughable offers via pm and then calling me unserious and greedy when I politely decline.

happy new year everyone, I want to use my daily bump for some additional info:
- currently the highest offer comes from Purif (2250a)
- please don't send me PMs with offers - it's getting out of hand. I will only consider offers made in this thread.
- if you offer more than fits in the trade window (for example, over 1750a), I will only trade the shield as soon as I've received the full amount. If that's not ok for you, please consider an alternative offer (for example, 1500a + item)
- I generally prefer armbraces, but if you want to offer items, I am interested in old school q7-8 items or other items that aren't obtainable anymore.

If nobody takes b/o I'll sell it to some other bid. Not necessarily to the highest bid because I'd rather lose 100 armbraces than sell it to someone who tried to take advantage of me.
As already mentioned I won't do a moderated trade so if that's a problem for you, you are free to offer any oldschool q7-8 weapon with similar value or retract your bid.
I reserve the right not to sell even for b/o to people who have proven themselves unserious or doubted if I actually have the shield.

i am just curious: how can an item that obviously still drops(!) be worth more than some OS q7-8 items? I mean I literally got it from some stupid rollerbeetle i accidentally aggroed in normal mode vaabi while doing a primary quest with my mesmerway

As long as the players are legitimate and not illegal sellers, there is no reason.

Will you enjoy playing an assassin? Because that's the most likely playstyle you'll be running on your ranger, as bows are weak. It is a lot of fun (at least I enjoy my ToA ranger a lot), but it might not be what you consider "playing a ranger".
Mesmer is a lot of fun as well and is exactly what I started new when I returned to the game beginning this year. I finally did a "Legendary Defender" since I didn't have that title on any of my old characters.
yeah, I read Ranger meta is basically daggers. I am currently level 11 with my Ranger, my problem with Mesmer is I somehow don't like how they look. Is the power difference even that notable? It seems like you just need mercenary mesmers to be meta, right?

One more question: When I want to create a new merc, do I need an empty character slot? Probably yes, right? Because I don't have any slots left, even had to buy an additional one for my new char

Mercs will prevent you from needing to unlock heros 1 by 1 for every new character. Which can be very annoying.
You cant use them right away but very quickly. Can access Registrar in KC, LA, Gtob, Kama and eotn. After doing this once they are available for the character.
If you want more than 3 mesmers in the team you 100% need mercs.

Hey all,
I am planning on playing through all the campaigns with a new class, starting in Prophecies. Since I already have every Proph class besides Mesmer and Ranger, I'm gonna roll one of them. I like Ranger more, but read that Ranger sucks in PvE and Mesmer is meta. Since I will probably play with heroes/mercs only, I don't want to screw myself over by picking Ranger. Is it really that bad to go with Ranger over Mesmer? Does Ranger really suck that hard in PvE content?

Both professions are very nice in PvE. Ranger is OP as daggerspam, and mesmer just is doing a good amount of dmg and has lots of control depending on the build ofc. But most of the time best is just to go pure dmg and enemies will fall like dominos. So you cannot go wrong with any of those 2.

Great Temple of Balthazar (ez spot to make a lvl 20 pvp char, register as merc, delete char, make new char for next merc)
