Only got 1 PC in game. I think it's probably accurate, but I know little of these things so would like some confirmation.
Didn't appreciate such things till recently. I wonder how many I've dumped over the years... :o
Not really looking to sell atm, as I quite like such simple, old skins. Would just be nice to know if I have something of value.
'while hexed' possibly one of the most undesirable mods..? but I like the way both mods have same condition.
Thanks.

It's pretty cool that we can do this, but is there any chance you could make it simpler (one click to upvote/downvote) or at least remove the daily limit?

Why? Was two negatives to one person in one thread not enough? :P

Agree about the daily limit though (although I usually use mine to upvote)

You could've just added this to the 'wished for changes' thread while you were there ;)

What's your plan with that?
Well the theme is adjusted to these forums.

honnaja: I'm from Germany and after the years of surveillance in national socialism and the GDR, we cannot accept any kind of censorship. I feel insulted by being ask to censor my posts. Censorship in the US doesn't keep any kids from using these words, so I think it's not worth to restrict free speech in media.

Wow. Really?
Newspapers would be different if they were 'effin' and 'blindin' here, there and everywhere.

I can't personally vouch for them, but there haven't been any skill updates in four years. If there's something to be concerned about it's how optimal the builds were in the first place. At worst, they'll be a bit outdated. You can always try one and tweak things afterward if you feel the need. Don't forget the output of a build is also dependent on how well you play it too, especially in PvP.

Exactly. I like to use them to get used to things, then I tweak them to make them work better for me. pvx templates/builds are a great starting point, but what works great for one person might be rubbish for someone else. I even tried the Contagion bomber in JQ to get a feel for how the bots work (and what makes them not work so well :P )
The greatest enjoyment for me is when I make my own and it actually works lol (Dazing Para might not sound like the best choice for JQ but it's so much fun! :D - those ele bots can HURT!). I never feel that great playing a 'cookie cutter' build (unless I have played around with it, and decided that it really does work best for me).

)= why can't PvP be full of OP brainless skills like PvE? xD

Because it's full of OP brainless bots? (Burn those ele bots!) Haha!

Just take whatever build you're comfortable with into JQ and play around / tweak till you find what works / what's fun for you :)

Yup.. my guild is highly inactive and I'd like people to use it for whatever reason.

Send me a message on here with your name and I'll invite it soon as I can.

ps// if this is in the wrong section then sorry, I didn't read any of the rules but I remember this board being fine for this service on the other forum.

What's your guild about? young, old, fun, serious, helpful, Kurzick, Luxon..?

Wouldn't hurt to say hello in the introductions thread ;)

2. My stuff
Fell free to link to the stuff I made: Ladder website, Build Wars Memorial and paw·ned². I might open a support thread here for people to ask questions on it.

3. Quick reply
Can you remove the text shadow from the quick reply box? And change the font to match the other fonts here?
/Edit: Applies for quick edit was well.

5. Quotes
If you ask me, the header of the quote box is too bright and the text too dark.

Cool stuff Redeemer. What a productive soul you (and your friends) are :) I notice that you can share builds on you-pawned. Is that accessible elsewhere, or only with the download? Also, can you see other builds, like as if you're looking for a good build for something in particular on pvxwiki (which isn't updated much now..?) or is it only if someone specifically shares with you?

/agree re. the text shadow (though only just realised that's what someone meant before. I would have just called it 'fuzzy' lol

/agree also re. the quote header. Kpow! :o Although I like the quote itself being darker..

I'm using revolution btw. However, when I clicked 'quote', then 'reply' I now appear to be in a WHITE mode (Osmium?) <dons shades>. Hopefully it will revert after I've posted, 'though the new tab I just opened seems to be 'stuck' in Osmium... <scrolls across the screen>
<goes off to find the theme-selector>

^..^

EDIT: Nope, stuck :(
<knocks>
Waaa.. Let me out...
:P

Post was a mess, so tidying:

I'm pleased to see that it looks like we can add sig. pics.. I've missed that elsewhere. I did have one I'd made, but all my chars. look different now, so hope to make another sometime :)

Ideas I've had for enhancement:

• More obvious, straighforward ability to go into 'advanced' post, once already started 'quick' version (currently deletes if you change?)
• More/varied smilies would be nice at some point :D
• Question post icon? ✓
• Link to gwauctions. Very useful and underused resource.
• Link to KamChat
• Link to GWLegacy group pic site..? (See below)

One of my little worries  is that GW will suddenly go 'poooff' and I'll wish I'd taken/saved more pics.. I don't know if there's a shared image site somewhere that gw people already use (found one on flickr but last post was YEARS ago..). Would it be useful/get used..? Pinterest, Flickr, google photos..? Maybe this should be a separate post...?

Hi folks :)

I started replying a few days ago, but decided to read the thread properly first, then got carried away leaving rep, until it said I'd used it all up :s then waited till I got more hehe.

My 'old main' is 130 months old :o My first char was my ele, then monk, necro and warrior. I then got a second account and made my ranger (127 months), who later became my 'main'. My mes was created around then too, then rit, sin, para and derv. My only real 'mule' is my old sin, as I wasn't happy with her so made another, but I use pvp chars for storage too. Ahh the never ending battle with storage space

Lurked on guru; joined 25/11/05, but didn't post much.

I wasn't filled with glee about the launch/arrival GW2, but I went along with it in the hope that it would grow on me.. meh. There's stuff I really like there, like the trading system (I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking the (lack of) trading system in GW is awful!), the gorgeous scenery, and general appearance of just about everything. Oh and I have a love-hate relationship with JPs. I took my ranger through the game, but just couldn't learn to like the general 'chaos' of fighting (zerg anyone?) and seriously disliked my claustrophobic, rushed dungeon experiences.

So, back to GW it was, and I'm enjoying giving a makeover to a couple of chars I've never been totally happy with, appearance-wise, (love my monkie now  ), getting decent weapons for all my heroes - even those I rarely use, doing JQ, quests like Kerrsh, and just whatever I feel like doing, without that constant feeling I had in Gw2 that the goal posts keep moving and I'll never catch up - not to mention the tricks to encourage gem purchasing :@

Like Kevin, my friends list is a ghostly place :( I've even become leader of one of my guilds due to inactivity. I wasn't even an officer! I'd love to change that too, but it's just been me and my heroes for so long now that I think only they would want me lol

Unlike 'wind fire and ice' I love 'Cartographing'. It's what finally encouraged me to go for some titles. I didn't like the intro. of titles. Suddenly people were too busy with 'that boring title that I hate but must finish' to play and have fun. Then they burned out and went off to WoW, or wherever... Gone were the days when we'd go sightseeing to find out--of-the-way statues in Tyria, and just enjoy a chilled adventure. Anyway, thanks to the discovery of textmod  I found that clearing fog was a very enjoyable pastime. Haha! (If you do it the proper way wfai, then I agree: not such fun).

Shame your hubby lost interest in GW cosyfiep. I couldn't get mine interested in the first place lol. Only games we enjoyed together were Syphon Filter (taking turns), then Thang, which came to an abrupt end when Ubiport 'deicided' to put all their efforts into another game

Preservation of the history of GW is a commendable goal and I congratulate the men and women of this site for contributing to this in whatever way they can. So much has already been lost to bans, hackers, bots, cheats, thieves and time but the richness (and many riches) of this game still survive, so let's enjoy.

I'll bring the hammers and my rocking chair.

/agree

Really like that quote :)

Well, enough from me for sure. I'd be happy to join in with most things. Not a fan of rushing around though. I also don't like to give up because it's not as quick/easy as people hoped. I like the challenge of rezzing, regrouping, retrying, perservering. I'd rather it take ages, but be fun, than ace it in silence...

:)

I'll be honest, I kinda just fancied being the first to post somewhere

But... wait.. I do have a little something on this subject ;)

Before GW came along I used to play a text 'MuD' game (no pictures! :o ). I loved it. You pretty much had to roleplay. This was done mainly by 'shouts' - not like "I Will Avenge You!" lol, but more like the map-shout-type thing in.. <whispers> GW2.. and of course emotes: either your own, using 'em .. ' yem ..' (I missed that in GW, and was quite impressed anet put customised emotes into GW2) or one of the many many 'canned' ones. There were different communication channels, like most games, and you were only allowed to use the 'chat' channel for ooc (out of character) chatting - or 'tells' (whispers) of course.

Naturally, coming from this environment, I missed this aspect of playing. I believe there was a RP community in GW (Piken Square?) but I never got into it. However, I did visit the Piken Square server/world in GW2 but found it very odd... It kinda reminded me of Life of Brian.. Maybe I'd just lost touch... :-/

So, do you roleplay? Have you? Would you? Or is it just some strange thing that some strange folk do that holds no interest for you? A quick google shows up plenty of GW2-related RP stuff, but I suppose all those people will have found their little niches there, and are not so likely to be here..?

Hope you don't mind lorenna.

Cind, #14 already taken. Beep. Try again :P
