It has the worst mod known to mankind. This is one for collectors only, the only problem being I can only think of one who might want it, because that one collector loves all things hexy.

I'm not using our tag for bringing people down. We're all agreed, and all saying the same thing. Once again this little guild is showing why we are where we are when it comes to rarity and connoisseurship. Nothing more than that.

Emma nailed it with personal choice. The connoisseurs would choose the sword, the uneducated would choose the pets.. Incidentally im deeply proud of all the [PhD]ers in this thread once again proving their pedigree.

It comes down to this....

To the uneducated masses, a panda or Kanaxai may seem rarer and more valuable because they can be seen in outposts, and therefore are more visible, but the educated trader and collector will always value the rarest weapons over those minipets. It's a conossieur thing.

You said it yourself, Jack. There have been 28? or so Kanaxais vs a total of 3 to 5 r8 15^50 crystalllines, or one r8 15/unconditional axe (etc) since the beginning of time. The numbers don't lie.

Agreed with the status symbol part with Crystallines. I have a couple. I would merch a panda. Someone give me a panda and I'll prove it. I never cared for minipets, I don't see them as status symbols. Minis are useless, weapons are useful. Can't hit a titan with a panda.

This sword is worth more than an unded panda.

The crysta is older and rarer than the Panda and Kanaxai.

It's certainly up there with the axe, but as there have been a few r8 15^50 crystallines over the years (5?) Kromp's axe is rarer and therefore more valuable.. I personally think asking 2500a for this crysta is deluded, but in the crazy market these days, no one can ever predict what such an item could sell for.

Bit more.

That's what someone could ask for it.

There is only one left uncustomised and it was for sale about 6 months ago, and if memory serves the seller was asking 2500a+.

I highly doubt that. Those charts were compiled over many years on guru by a guy called Red. He is a specialist on this, and did extensive research into it. If there's something wrong it's most likely a formatting issue. The originals may still be in the archives....

So http://www.guildwarslegacy.com is approaching 18 months old, and I'd like to pass on our thanks from the team to the community as a whole for supporting us. Personally I'm absolutely delighted with the response we've had, and I can honestly say that we're exceeding my own expectations for what we can achieve.

And so to business. There will be a wholesale restructuring of the site in the future - can't say what or when because it'll be ready when it's ready, and not before.... but what we have planned will be a huge improvement on the current forum.
As part of this restructuring, we are looking to add a series of guides. At present, we are examining which guides we'd like to include, so I'm asking for idea on which guides (beginner right up to elite) we should include. Furthermore, if anyone would like to contribute to these guides, let myself or Kevin know and we'll try to include what you have. We're also looking for guide authors, and any artwork you are prepared to let us use to make them look better.

Secondly, I'd like to compile a list of all and any external resources and links we can include. The idea being that Legacy will become the centre point for all things Guildwars. At the moment there are dozens of resources but nothing tying them all together. So please comment here wth every GW related link you know of, and we'll set about contacting and arranging with the owners to include them.

Can anyone with internet skills help us on putting some of this together?

Lastly, none of this is free, and at the moment Kevin and I are funding Legacy ourselves. We have a donate button, but nobody is using it. We may have to include adverts on the site in the future if we can't get any donations. Even the old guru site had adverts. We'd like to keep it advert free if at all possible.

There are several items I'd love to own - the r8 -2-2 crude shield, the r8 15^50 crystalline sword or swamp club.... the r7 +5e jitte.... a r8 +30 -2/stance Magmas...

For me, there can be only one. The axe.
The r8 +15% unconditional Double Bladed Axe. The history, the rarity, the legend.

Got to aim high, right?

Hey Ivory.... that absolutely counts as a collection. It's a superb collection. Congratulations. This thread is all about showing off your ingame achievements. That isn't always about having stuff. A collection is a bunch of things you've gathered together, and your characters absolutely count. A collection doesn't have to be items.

And Ikki.... what can I say?....... truly a superb bow collection. This is how it's done folks.

Well, not really.

Whilst Arenanet is a huge multinational conglomerate with thousands of employees and listed on the stock market (probably), gulldwarslegacy.com is just a poky fan site with massive ambition. There are contractual negotiations and legal issues etc to navigate when it comes to routing and re-routing internet traffic, none of which we at Legacy can affect. We know it's frustrating, and I can assure you that the folks at Anet know this. I don't know if they are working as fast as they possibly can, but I do know that they are working on it. There are local and policy restraints which have to be allowed for too. We haven't been given any more information than you have already. Just got to wait it out.

Here is a response from DrStephenCW on Reddit with regards to the recent lag issues ingame, which as we suspected was due to the Frankfurt data centre problems. He is one of the Devs at Anet, and is more qualified than everyone else to comment on this.

"We do care. The Frankfurt power outage fried some of our equipment. We merged the Frankfurt and Dallas datacenters for Guild Wars. I live in Seattle and when I play Gw1 my ping varies from 100 to 200. When I play via VPN through Zurich, my ping (after subtracting out the trip to Zurich) is about 170 to 200. Even including the time to Zurich (170 so total 370 ping) the game is still playable. Guild Wars is playable with 200 ping (the game was originally designed to run over modems!). A 500 ping is annoying and 900 is really annoying but I don't know why you are getting that. The best thing is to send a ticket to support with the output of "tracert auth1.arenanetworks.com" or the output of Game Advisor or the output of "gw.exe -diag". I hope we can rehost some game servers in the EU but we have a few weeks of "plumbing" to do before we can turn those on. Just so you know, the most we can do is adjust the /return/ route - we don't control the route from your computer to our datacenter, but we can give hints about how best to return to your computer."
