No, customization is permanent. Being able to uncustomize 10 years later would just cause meyham.

"Remember your q8 15^50 sword that used to be the only uncustomized one? Well now there are 5 of them."

"Remember your q8 15^50 dead bow that used to be the only uncustomized one and thus a priceless treasure? Well now there are 5 of them."

Customization is forever and it should be.

If he wants to buy it too, I wish him the best of luck. He's gotten his answer. The first post gave him his answer. I think everyone is curious about whether OP truly owns this item (generally people ask PC's about items they own). I suppose they ask about items they want to buy. But it seems more often PC's are asked for items people own already, so I assumed that OP probably isn't looking to buy this item if he doesn't already own it.

Yep as others have said, this is the single item Handler has been looking for ages to acquire. Without screenshots and proof that OP has it by showing someone in game, this price check thread is pretty dumb. OP do you own this item? If so, would you show someone in game?

One could go further and just say that the whole excess price of mini-pets in general is stupid. Not just the price gap between a dedicated and an undedicated. So you draw the line quite arbitrarily of what is crazy and what isn't. That being said, I understand that. The only point of a minipet besides showing off is to dedicate it in your hall of monuments. So a minipet that can still be dedicated serves it's only useful purpose still. So it should be worth quite a bit more. Just my opinion.

Kromp and Yuko, thanks for your post. I slightly disagree with Yuko about only 1 horde as an example, I can think of 2. I realized because of Kromp's post that should have included in my original post that hoarding can be done without the motivation to artificially make an item rare. Hoarding can simply be done because one likes the item with the side effect of making the item seem rarer than it is. I would personally not call Kabong's collection the level of a horde. But I also do not recall everything in it. In the numismatic world, there have been many people that have tried to horde key date coins. Both with the intent of trying to make a date seem artificially rare, and with the intent of purely loving that date and wanting as many as they can afford.

I am also not as active as I used to be. But, I do think there is a certain q8 +5e collector who has enough q8 +5e weapons that a market shortage was created beyond the actual rarity of q8 +5e swords. Does he have 15 of one skin alone? No, probably not. I don't know for sure. But he has a massive set in total. I also think that a certain dual reduction collector has done the same thing. I'm not accusing anyone of anything negative. I am just calling things how I see them. I think both of these collectors have created an artificial shortage of those items in game which has massively driven up the prices on them. I personally think it is kind of wonderous that one single person can have such an impact on something like that. I would like to add though that I also think that if either of these hordes were dispersed, that the prices would plummet on those items. The seller might be able to name a price for the first few. But it won't take much to saturate the markets and cause a large price drop. The items that go for guzu dollars are the ones were there is only 1 or 2 survivors into 2017. Not the items that were in hordes where there are 50+ very similar items in a single relatively active collection. It's like coins - something with a high mintage can be very rare in present day because there are few survivors whereas something with a lower mintage but more survivors may be less valuable which is counterintuitive if you only look at mintages.

Edit: Last edit. I kept adding little tidbits of thoughts and stuff.

Since this is a thread on today's market in guild wars. I would love to give my thoughts. I've been waiting to give my thoughts which I will do so in this mess of hodge-podge below. I will admit first off that I have not read much of anyone else's thoughts. And I will also admit that I have become less active in recent day for 4 reasons: It is first, partly because of this. Partly because I am enjoying pokemon more. And partly getting more busy. And partly because I just can't compete anymore - see point 5 below.

That being said. What are Surge Goes Pre's thoughts on this market?

    1. Prices are stupid high for some things. I'm sorry, they are in my opinion. It's a sellers market for rare items - maybe the best sellers market that I can think of ever happening in guild wars. You can basically get anything for a rare item it seems as long as someone wants it for something.

    2. Because other people see exceptionally great items go for stupid high prices, they think their not so exceptionally great items are also worth stupid money. And then they don't sell for those stupid high prices asked for and instead of thinking 'hey I should lower my price', they think, 'why aren't my bids high enough'. Like they aren't the problem.

    3. Items that historically have always been merch crap and literally are merch crap, are selling for a few armbraces. Crazy.

    4. I think the main reason behind all this crazy stupid prices is real life gold selling. Armbraces aren't worth much in real life and so if you want 20a or 200a to go buy an item, people just use paypal first.

    5. Building on 4, It's really hard to compete with someone ebaying their money in this market. It takes a long time to make 200a in game legitimately. And that is very frustrating to see a no-name ebayer just walk up and outbid you with stupid money.

    6. Bots are killing the market for certain items. And driving up the prices massively on others. A lot of skins that used to be treasures are now approaching trash status in terms of how common they have become.... Dragon staff, Bo staff, Platinum staff to name a few. And people who do bot sell the items they get and then they have stupid money to buy other stuff - just like ebayers do.

    7. A brief comment on hoarding - the only thing I'll reference from this thread. There are a couple people hoarding different items. This hoarding has created a false notion of rarity. They have most definitely driven the prices of those items up. Unfortunately I think that if these people ever decide to sell the items they hoarded, they will flood the market because they have so many of these items and there isn't much demand for them outside these hoarders themselves. So they will either never sell their items, or have to compromise on what they think the value is and lower them. Even though there is stupid money around, I think the stupidest money comes out for rarest things. And the fact that there are hordes of items in hoarded collections means by default they aren't that rare in terms of survival into 2017 on active accounts compared to other items in guild wars because there are so many in the horde. And that's all I'll say on that.

It was a nice run in guild wars! Thanks for the memories everyone who helped contribute to them :).

Anyone know if any Q8 Colossal Scims are still around? My guess is no, I remember the one Coast had but idk remember if there were any others.

I own Coast's old Q8 Colossal. It's in pretty strong hands unless someone comes along and offers me the world for it. Some day it might find itself customized to my monk. But maybe not. Who knows.

There is another with a different gold value. No idea who owns that or where it is now.

This is the last bump that will be done here. Collossal and IG are no longer for sale as the bids were far too low. They are now mine forever. I've added a couple b/o's. This is the last bump. Once this thread goes into oblivion, that's it.

    Buzan out.

***mod edit---oh noes...FERN...I hope you still let us see you!!--mod edit***

I'm probably going to give this only 1 more bump. And I will be honest, none of the star items are even remotely close to me considering selling them at these prices.

I will also say publicly that I have received an offer I am considering as a buyout on the mursaat and the dead bows via pm. More than quadruple the offers on the bows now.

Kriss." EDIT : retract since "someone" offered more by pm, good luck " Yes, Pleikki did. Literally the most well-known person on this whole trading forum. And I am also one of the most trusted people on this forum. So you can be all 'sketched' out by my "sketchy" comment, but the fact of the matter is that I am one of the last people that would ever lie to you to get extra more money out of you on this whole forum. It's great to be snarky with other people and call them out when you think they are lying. Unfortunately in this case you are the misguided one. If I tell you someone offered much more than you via pm, it's not cause I'm trying to take advantage of you and make you outbid yourself. It's cause someone DID. And the only reason I told you is because you said don't sell without telling you.
