Another random challenge I thought of is playing through the campaign with the only restriction being you have to play through the entire campaign in 1st person view haha!**edit: would be cool because for the people who havent tried this, I sometimes play like this and the guildwars world looks and feels completely different & much larger. Could be fun for someone whose played a lot and wants to mix things up.
Here's my challenge: 1 arm for the first person to complete my NF spear master challenge.
Rules:
- Capture on stream or youtube.
- Normal start with a new character (Must be a paragon).
- NM.
- No henchmen or heroes (unless required by mission).
- No consumables.
- "Iron-man mode" can't trade with players or use storage. Can use merchants. Can craft armor/weapons if you can get the material/money while playing through. Can use any drops (only weapon you can use are spears).
- Can't use any skills, can only throw your spear (AA).
- Beat the NF main story line.
EDIT: would be funny to see a group of 8 try to playthrough NM without using any skills/ just using weapons.
Looks like NM with stones in some missions? I wouldnt think that would be impossible...
But solo HM using the first towns weapons/armor w/ no runes, insignia, weapon mods, no cons and only proph skills... maybe I'm wrong but I think if you were able to make a build that could take out a mob, there's some missions where I'm not sure if its possible (defend/escort missions)
Can you beat a mission this way/even be able to kill 1 monster lol?
Edit: I'm assuming no cons as well? Do you have to wait until the area where you can capture skill, or can use any skill from that campaign from the beginning? I'm trying to think of a proph build...

New theory from this discussion: since botting/gold selling lead to inflation & drove the prices of almost all items into the ground (e.g. OS q9s, pretty much every insc item, etc) gold sellers/botters needed something other than just arms/ectos to have value and chose eblade/bds etc (I guess this was their only logical choice as you cant farm prenerf items).
Why? Maybe to enter the marketplace of 'high rollers' and gain access to pre-nerfs. Maybe they need it for people to want & buy arms/ectos, idk. Still only half a thought/not sure how this all comes together.
Sorry for confusion; pre-nerf items ARE the things that should be worth a lot. The eblades/bds/vs whatever is what is being manipulated. And well atleast its harder to farm the q8s that can still drop vs the prior mentioned items.
I know q9's arent that rare, but I still think it should be worth more than the free 15 ectos you get from nick.
Ah sorry, to clarify I'm not trading cons to make money. Wanted to say that the only interaction I want with other people in game is to buy cons/runes/other necessities for personal use. I guess the benefit of inflation is that I can get all these from the free nicks gift ectos without touching my actual vault.
Also not sure if I'm even connecting the dots right in regards to gold sellers, botters, power traders, whatever; but whatever it is smells fishy! Just want to let know whoever is doing these kind of things, there is someone out there that won't be fooled by it!
PSA I dont think anyone should sell any q8 perfect item for anything less than the q9 eblade price! How is q8 15^50 runic axe go for 15a; while the q9 eblade is 70a; market manipulation!!! (if you argue eblade is rare drop, it is, but botters have near infinite amount of zkeys and can sit at zaishen for days, they probably have inventories full of eblades) goodbye runic axe

(pre-apologies for scattered thoughts and sentences, just trying to quickly shoot this out at work)
Just wanted to see anyone elses opinion on this topic. After reading some recent posts (eblade/bds prices, etc) and some private investigations (see screenshot) the idea of people giving their precious items to gold sellers/botters for nothing popped up in my head. I feel like the current economy is most likely dominated by these types of players, and they probably have a ridiculous amount of "wealth" they farmed. Then they trade the arms/ectos/eblades/bds etc they put barely any effort into getting for your 10+ year old non replicable items and gain actual "wealth". This makes me not want to participate in trading with anyone other than for cons/small value items/etc; maybe I'd trade item for item with a player whose been long time active on this site, but arms/ectos/eblades/bds etc I feel have no value.
-Guy PM'ing me offering me items to trade bc I said I dont want arms/ectos. Kama chat with similar items being sold/also selling arms for real $.
Maybe I'm overreacting, and maybe noone cares, and even though I've only recently returned to this game (although it was at one time my favorite game, and so much nostalgia) but gold sellers, botters, the economy, etc really bother me and makes me sad the game is kind of messed up! I feel like I'd rather trash my items then give to a gold seller/botter.
Also would anyone ever trade their q8 15^50 longsword for a q9 eblade? Why is something like an OS q9 15^50 worth less than the "free" ectos from nicks gifts every week?
PS: If I made the wrong connections with the PM/kamadeclytpe, I'm sorry, but the coincidence is too great.
PPS: Based on other forum discussions, is botting/gold selling even frowned upon any more?

I feel like the economy is too messed up. Just browsing through the b/s/t/pc and it seems like a q9 eblade is worth around the same as a OS q8 15^50 longsword? A recent pc of a blue q8 focus was 5e, thats the price of 1 nicks gift LOL (although blue, is it really only worth 1/4th of the "free" ectos you get every week from nick?). Also someone just traded for that q8 crystalline, might be a noob question, but how does one trade for something more than 1750 arms/what do you use after that?
Hmm OST is closer to the right track, but I wouldnt think a 324 gold value is older than like a 286 or would think that would make a price difference. But am curious about the upper limit gold value in general. Is there a weapon 500+ , 600+, higher?
Is there any research on the highest possible gold value of q8 weapons?

First week back at GW and rng has been good to me. Tbh I forget most of the game, but for some reason FoW and UW stuck, so I've been casually clearing FoW. RNG from this week:
1. I had an old Unid Q9 shadowstaff in my bank. IDd it and was Q9 shadowstaff channeling 20/10 (thought it was good, but I guess its just ok?) from reading forums I'd estimate this to be like 10e-25e?
2. About 4 clears in I got another Q9 shadowstaff. Was thinking about selling as is but decided what the heck. Got a Q9 shadowstaff channeling 20/20 channeling (will add pics later if requested, but I'm just adding this to forum now because I'm bored at work). I was looking back in the forums to see what this is worth, and I didnt see any channeling being sold in the last few years (saw some other Q9 shadowstaff 20/20s go from 5a-25a). Saw someone posted on buying a year ago and said they were looking for it for awhile so I'm assuming pretty rare? Had 2 more Q9 drops but they ended up being merch stats.
3. Got a vampiric dragon sword from Nicholas the traveler. Harder than I thought to find a price, I'm guessing 5-25e?
(EDIT: I'll probably end up putting 1-2 on auction, if VDS isnt worth too much I'll probably customize)

Ah ok, thank you for the insight. Sadly I do not think any of my runes are rare, but hopefully this post helps clarify this question for any other newly returning players.
Ok here are some screenshots of some of my armour sets that could fit on one word doc; anything look rare? Or are these just normal non nerfed runes? Also thank you for the warning, at the moment I'm still gaining info about the modern economy before b/s/t.
