Agree with Budek Byway being the easiest to vanq. I think the Hardest would probably be that area in the Desolation where you need to use a wurm to break down the tower to get to the last mobs, since if you kill everything without building adrenaline, you have to restart! xD Although Unwaking Waters and Arborstone are pretty challenging due to group density. I dont think I've done full Proph vanq (Since I got GWAMM with just Cantha and Elona done) so I cant really comment on those.
Agree with the missions.
I really enjoy Vanqing the Shiverpeaks. Its a really scenic environment and has some great encounters. I guess if I had to pick, Mineral Springs would be my favourite.

Well at least in the last 7 years or so i could count the number of q8 +5e proph/core skin swords Ive seen on the fingers of one hand :p and Ive been actively searching for them :p gl with your search tho :pHandler is the leading expert in req8 +5, so I would listen to him. If one would exist then he would know about it. Technically, it is still a possible drop, but still none known have dropped. Your best bet would be to try get one yourself.

Actually Surge, Kournan chests drop q8s like does elonian and Canthan, Also maguuma chests drop q8q8 Drops come from lvl17-21 foes and chests, 300g chests such as maguuma are lvl18, while Kourna, Elonian and Canthan 450g ones are lvl20.
From what ive seen Kournan (NF) chests actually drop alot more often q8 then canthan/tyrian chests, but thats because there are alot more offhand/shield skins to be dropped in the drop tables, and alot less other weapons.

Ive personally had the best luck running the singular chest in Shadows Passage for req8. Had like 7-8 drop there since drop nerf, and most of the time they are max dmg (Not sure why).
Chest running is 100% the way to go, trying to farm for req8 now is just.... pointless xD -
