You can only drop Q8 swords, shields, and focus items now. These drop from lvl 18-21 mobs in either NM or HM. Chests that can drop Q8 are kournan, canthan, elonian & Maguma. You can drop Q8 celestial shields or swords still from canthan chests around mantids/vermin/nahpui quarter NM, and maybe a few other spots.

I have had them drop other swords but overwhelmingly they drop dead swords.

Recently I have tried farming the tengu in Alcazia Tangle (they are all lvl 20). They are pretty manageable with vow of silence. What build are you using for the first group 20 HM Charr in COF?

My all-time favourite Q8 Chest run is Barbarous shore: 3-5 chests in just under 2 mins that can drop cool swords like briar / bramble / colossal with derv:

Thought I'd make this thread given my love for Q8 Farming + the lack of new info on Q8 farming in quite a while..

What has been your experience with dropping Q8s? I have spent a good amount of time opening Kaineng/Elonian/Maguuma/Kournan chests while also farming 18-21 mobs in NM/HM.

I personally dont really find it worthwhile to chestrun/farm OS Q8s because the chance of dropping a good dual mod in Q8 is like 1/9999999. Swords are OK but even then you run the risk of a 14% or some crappy inherent. Moddock Crevice has dropped only garbage for me over hundreds of farms.

Have you guys found any success mass solo farming Q8s from NM mobs (more mobs, lower rate in NM)? Thinking of EOTN in particular for insc swords/shields.

Any luck with other quests? I have had some luck with Anger of the Stone Face (Lvl 20 Cultists in HM). I have tried farming Fish in a Barrel but the mob aggro is messed up.

When it comes to chests, Barbarous Shore is pretty solid for insc drops and I have had some luck there.

I run this on ranger with an almost perfect success rate, if you are going R/W i recommend swapping out healing signet for Feel No Pain with alcohol (+300 hp). It is infinitely better.

everything should be pretty easy except hexes from ice golems and the small zone with the stone summit/other stone summit towards the end, make sure to maintain anti KD vs the giants and the nightmare popups with smite signet. There are also the initial ice imps with mind freeze which are annoying if you don't have anti spell. I would probably run with spellbreaker as my elite with a +5 df weapon to give you spell immunity to break aggro where needed.

I was checking out some drops on the wiki, noticed Shiroken Assassins can drop Oni Blades and Oni Daggers - does this mean these weapons can drop Inscribable if you were to farm the Shiroken Assassins in the 3 NF quests?

Shield handles have a few options - while hex / in stance / regular +30 / while ench. If you test all 4 scenarios with it UNID and your HP doesnt change, it's blue because of whatever insc it has

Bump, added a bunch on new Q8s

I just dropped an OS shield - it's unid but has +30 hp when I add it on.

Any thoughts how much it would go as a price in its current unid state? Not sure if I want to risk the ID for some crazy double mod or risk it showing up as single. Appreciate your thoughts & how much u think it would be if it's something like +30 10 vs x or +30 20% -5.
