Today I had two torment claws (Stygian veil) start wanding me.
Decided to go back and kill both with heroes out of range, and they both dropped quicksilvers...

Not weird at all. Both Torment Claws and Tendrils have always had a chance to wield wands and drop them after being killed. Before the 20th anniversary it was always green Stygian Wands, now the colored trail gives away that it's an anniversary gold.
Understandable tho that it might be news to non-doa players -

As VoS you can solo farm Berserkers (mix of minotaurs, wendigo, bison, ox) almost any quantity you can pul together. From 3-40+
I think I'm missing something with my VoS build then. Since I'm not getting a fatal spike, then getting creamed a couple seconds after.
You need to run pcons for Mirage cloak to last. Since Minotaurs cause weakness you need to 18 Earth prayers (corn+ egg) and at that point you should be pretty comfy
Of ofc you drop a skill for a more defensive option like extend enchantments or sanctity for more survivability but slower clears -

A regular VoS is doing the job.
P-cons are optionnal, but can be more efficient during favor to farm faster (Alcohol + Bday cupcake)

Just pulled this off a Stonewolf's corpse in Ice Cliff Chasms, wondering if they could drop any q8 max of these?
you can drop max white and blue q8s from any HM mob - any level. so yes they can but it doesnt have anything to do with that mob

11-18 is max for q3, max for q4 is 12-20. the +4 crit strikes mod is also non max (+5 is) and not super desireable. All in all not bad but unfortunately 1 req off and mod is one off. Can use for a low level character or salvage the mods for use

Just for information in case anyone wondering. I just got an hourglass staff drop in a norn area. So the items aren't really bound to any area it seems. I thought hourglass was limited to asuran area but it's not.
Hourglass satves have dropped for me with pretty high drop chance in Norn area since day 1 of the event. Gotten and sold 5 q9s so far I farmed in the norn area all from mobs. It's certainly not area specific just as the game updates suggests

Are Glacial Blades still just hope for the best from chests?
As someone who has farmed norn area exclusively in a farm with very high new item drop chance I can say that in over 200 new skins and over 5k mobs killed I haven't dropped either glacial from a mob, but maybe all but 1 other skins that drop there. So my biased opinion is yes. Especially since we saw 3 glacial blades drop from chest runs the first 2 days or so alone

From Varajar Fells. First drop in eotn in over 5k solo kills during favor. Has it been this rare for others as well in general content? -
Drop rate got nerfed either globally or locally with the last gw build update. Before that the favor unid drop rate was insane
12 gold drops from one WoC run is extreme though. In my experience it's usually it's 0-6, even with favor.

I like to share a little observation.
After about 2k chest in Ice Dome post the anniversary update, i have gotten all the new skins available in Tyria except for the new shield or hammer skins.
Prior to the update, I ran about 20k+ chest in Ice Dome and I have never gotten shield skins other than the summit shields (SSS and SWS), and for hammer I have only gotten Summit Hammer and Giant Slayer hammer. This is also true for axe skin as I have only gotten Summit Axe in Ice Dome.
This leads me to conclude that this game has a hard code drop table for Stone Summit enemies (maybe only in Southern Shiverpeak area) for shields, axe and hammer, and this applies to the new anniversary skins as well. So if you are hunting for the new anniversary shield or hammer skins, Ice dome is prob not the place you should farm as it only contains Stone Summit mobs.
i welcome other Ice Dome chest runners to confirm this theory.
The new war picked dropped form a chest in the proph desert. I think that was the first time I saw one so far
