The problem is that neither game seems to be bringing in the revenue that ncsoft wants from their games....they only care about that: How much money is this making for us NOW. Its not relevant (to them) that the game is good, unique, etc. only if its making money right now. We know that gw's business model was not about making money (though if they had kept to their timelines of new campaigns every 6 months it would have....not sure about gw2 and their microtransaction stuff), so it seems that even being the best wont keep you up and running (we have seen this already). And I am not sure what anet can do to impress upon their bosses that either.

We will just have to wait and see what transpires---we know that gw doesnt cost much to run and we have only a few people working on it (hope their names are not on the pink list!) so that is a plus for it.

they didn't---a few employees ON THEIR OWN TIME worked on these few updates, the code is sooooooo....ooo old that even they are afraid of breaking something. The ones who knew the code are gone and the gw2 team is clueless about it.

yeah, the reward is only 500 xp so it could be easily done and forgotten.

I know that you can do the mission without having done the quest since there are no gates in prophecies, anyone can walk into that outpost.

( I think I have a character that did the first one, but has kept the quest because of the necros and wanting to kill them repeatedly--no one idea why I did that)

looks the same for me (USA) inventory panels are still $9.99, costumes are $6.99, ooooh the complete collection--$39.99, single chapters $19.99...looks less to me (but never bought those from the store originally). So is it just the euro prices that have changed?

yeah, just do some math for my main account...full amount of characters X 10 gold coins for belt, X 20 gold coins per bags = more gold coins than I have had so far in the time I have been playing....oh well, guess its something to work for for some of my more 'full' characters. Since a 10 slot equipment bag was only 1 gold, 15 slot 5 gold...think they are a bit overpriced on the runes for the bags....but hey, still the best update!

It is part of the EULA that you can not buy for real money, but loads of people think that that rule is not meant for them (and many and found out that anet does and will carry out their bans).

As for which heroes, get the quick ones to start with: Koss, Dunkoro, Talhkora, Melonni, (and the others which you get for a quick quest when doing the transitioning quest from prophecies to elona), and then get over to the HoM and get Gwen, Vekk and Ogden. I would also get Olias--but he is a bit farther into the elona quest line.

As for builds, for the new account unlocking skills would be something you should do. What I have done in the past is start new characters in each of the chapters of each profession---this unlocks a buttload of skills (lots of them are well, junk, but there are a few good ones). I would also do the skill quests offered in Prophecies for this reason--tons of skills for just finishing a quest (and gives you more lore in the process).

To begin with the henchmen will be better than your heroes since they have more skills, though getting a good monk up and running will help.

To earn money, I am told, id everything (I usually dont, but if you get the id kits for a reasonable price why not).

As for the rest, I am sure there will be others along shortly to add to this....with more helpful answers.

and yes, some people will help you along the way...for instance, loads of people will donate minipets to you (I have a bunch if you need some). Others will help you with some of the harder missions (you may hit a few that are much harder doing solo and just having one friend will push you over).
