I don't think the game necessarily needs an update to bring up the population.
IMHO, Prophecies and/or PVP-only should become free to play for new users.
If a.net needs to revamp the monetization, why can't they offer "starter packs" or platinum purchases.
This game has unique mechanics that have yet to be recreated in new games.
