Here is a screenshot showing my character on the other side of the portal but it does not change maps. Also shows my current active primary quests in case that matters. I also tried the other exit portal on the other side of Unwaking Waters (Kurzick) but same thing. No map change

I learned to do the gate glitch and run factions for my alt accounts. However this only unlocks the luxon side and I now want my characters to have access to the kurzick side. I have tried the gate glitch in unwaking waters to access the kurzick side without having to do all the missions I skipped but I was unable to portal. I performed the gate glitch successfully but was only able to walk around the city in it's "explorable area" version.

The wiki states this gate is glitchable with the benefit being to access the other side early so I believe it must be possible. Are there additional requirements my character needs to meet for the portal behind the gate to be active?
