I was retrying Vizunah Square for masters, when I got hit by a combo of Stolen Speed, Necro and Ele spikes, wasn't even from any bosses. Henchies were probably too busy healing the bald duo standing in RoJ

Quick Update, I've made it to the Desert!
I've had a few close calls...
dumb me tried to see if I could get Defy Pain early from a boss right outside Beacon's Perch, with lvl 24 enemies while I was lvl 10 with basic henchies... Didn't work, didn't die, but I came close.
Not looking forward to Dunes of Despair Bonus...but so far things have been going well.

So I was fighting some harpies...then all of a sudden I look up and see -15% DP...whatever that means
-
Brave Sir Robin ran away...?
Bravely ran away away!
-
Haha, I did survive, he wiped my party a few times, I ran and had to rez my heroes. I only have NF heroes rn, so no Rit ones yet. Definitely a mish I'm not looking forward to in HM, but you bet I'm gonna prepare for that xD

Progress has been slow lately but I've been picking back up. I'm out of Istan, been grabbing some skills for my heroes + elites. Avatar of Melandru for the Melandru Accord Dervish...I think that fits pretty well haha..
And still alive!

Define stable...

He unfortunately met an untimely end getting hit in the face by some Charr. xD

Afraid I'm already back in post. I am however part of an Ironman Guild and Discord if you want to join and try to team up with other players. Maybe when next I lose my run, I could team up as well xD. Can't promise I'll do LDoA though, did it once deathless, that was enough for me haha. Anyway good luck on your new playthrough!

Quick update haha, I restarted the Necro in order to get the new Melandru Badge to add to my Dhuum badge. I didn't get too far so it's not too much of a set back. And I'm happy, more shiny badges!

oop I died again, made it all the way to Grand Court of Sebelkeh, died trying to get Masters on that mission. I got burned down quick by the Margonite Sorcerers I think. Unfortunate, since I got pretty far. A total of 24 hours of active gameplay and now I'm starting again!
my 8th Run, "Hc Iron Bonral VIII" A monk in factions. Taking inspiration from a guildmate who uses roman numerals, as I'm not wanting to create new names every time haha. The more I die, the cooler my name will look I guess. xD
Last time I rolled a monk she died in Pre, so it's nice to give monk a fair shot this time outside of Pre.

Alrighty, sorry I haven't posted, the last month I've been slammed at work and haven't had much time to play. I've been thinking of changing/adding a few rules, and with the introduction of the Dhuum badge, I decided to start over. Iron Sorcerer was retired at Bloodstone Fen to redo this thing. Now that I can finally play again, it's time to get to work!
New Rules:
* Since having played through Proph a few times now, it's gotten a little old. So with me randomizing everything, I'm now randomizing the Campaign each time now, then continue the progression accordingly as closest to Proph > Factions > Nightfall > EoTN > Beyond as possible.
* Skills can now only be acquired by Skill Quests and Signet of Capture, no more skill trainers (besides buying SoC)
* Can only obtain armor by collectors until Max Armor can be bought
* Been getting too comfortable being able to port out when in danger, so I'm not allowing myself to port out anymore while in combat. I must be able to get out of the fight, and be out of danger before being able to map out.
With that, I'm introducing Iron Sunspear, my new Paragon run in Nightfall. I think it'll be fun to start out in other campaigns, and with a shiny green badge by my name!
I'm happy to be able to play again, time to get to work!

Nevermind, Mesmer is dead! Died in the Southern Shiverpeaks with 40 hours in. Ice imps/Ice golems spiked just a bit too hard and too fast.
Bank is empty again, and it's time to start anew! As always, randomizing what I get for class and appearance. Last 2 professions to play is Necro and Ele, and I got Ele.
Iron Sorcerer is next on the playing field. I will not however be attempting LDoA, the grind for one was enough. I can still say I did a deathless LDoA so I'm fine with that. Here's to a new journey!
-
Mesmer is still alive, and Ascended now!
Empathy + Backfire has been tremendously helpful throughout the game so far. Wastrel's Worry is OP on bosses, since hexes only last half as long, letting me spam them to death pretty well. Also being able to remove hexes and enchants is nice if I need to do so. I'll say the Desert missions went a lot smoother than it did with my Ranger. Onward to go see Glint and get through the rest of this campaign. I'm eager to get into Factions and avenge my fallen Ranger.
Till next time!

Congrats.
21 hours is amazing to me - it took me over 2 years (but that was about 17 years ago).
Yeah, trying to do LDoA before the vanguard quests was something else, lol

Quick Update, just hit level 15. I've obtained 1 Charr Kit and 1 Bag, hoping to get one more bag before I leave Pre for the matching set. Now I'm just doing the Farmer Hamnet farm, just a grind to get the last levels. But so far the Mesmer is doing well. Empathy/Backfire has been OP. Still haven't died, just grinding my life away, feeling dead inside while I do this farm. >.>

I don't give up that easily, each death adds to the need to start again. If I give up, or make the challenge easier, it won't be as much fun, and I wont feel as accomplished upon hitting the milestones. If I'm playing by challenge rules, they gotta be hardcore, and the consequences punishing.

Remember what I said above? Well too bad, I died anyway!
Made it all the way to Lvl 13, but after 13 hours... -sigh-
Though, it wasn't without some sort of achievement
Somehow at Lvl 5, I cleared the Charr bosses with Ben. -cough- I mean.. I kept Ben alive and he cleared the Charr bosses.
Even funnier, after that I struggled to clear them, even at lvl 10 I had struggles, so I don't know what happened honestly.
Anyway, no time to mourn, time for the next one!
Iron Hypnosis, I'm feeling pretty good about my odds this time (famous last words). . . Empathy/Backfire should do me well.

Yep, after 47 hours, Volley met her end by some hooligans in the alley. Was scrounging up materials to get my first Elite Armor chest piece, and got hit hard real quick by Am Fah, didn't even have time to process that I was getting hit, it was a quick death. Ascended and Weh No Su, just before going to Tahnnakai Temple. Still, 45 hours longer than my first attempt
. Bank is now completely empty of gold, items and mats and ready to go.Randomized everything again and this time rolling with a Warrior.
Iron Sellsword, this time though, I plan to grab LDoA before hitting post, and maybe squadding up with another Iron player. Attempt #3!

Good news! I beat the rest of the missions and have completed Prophecies in NM, every Bonus, and no deaths!
Hell's Precipice took 4 tries to do, and I had to be very cautious and pull enemies a little at a time, eventually I got through it. Now for some Photo Dumps
Ended up getting the Zealous Flatbow as my reward.
It has been a blast completing Proph like this, now it's time for the next journey!
Next steps: Save up for my Proph Elite Armor, and begin to delve into Factions! Oh, and continue to not die, can't forget that one.
-
Out of the Southern Shiverpeaks! Finally into the Ring of Fire Islands and the last push to finish NM Proph.
Fighting Mursaat before being infused was quite terrifying, thankfully pets are always infused so he took the hits for me. Once I got infused I wasn't so worried. Got a few more elites, and still no deaths!
I haven't done these last 3 missions with just henchmen in a long time so we'll see how that goes!

Volley is exhausted after the desert, but I'm still alive! There were several close calls though.
First I journeyed to all outposts and missions to have access to the 2nd profession change quests later.
First Mission was Thirsty River, it took 3 attempts, only because having to kill the priest with the Monk boss was tough, hard to interrupt. Got my first Elite though here, Marksman's Wager... I never really used it much before, it's pretty nice to spam 10 energy attacks with.
Second Mission was Elona Reach, was super easy, no difficulty getting it done with the bonus.
Third Mission was Dunes of Despair, the bane of my existence. It took 10 attempts to get it done with the Bonus. I did not use the trick of activating the timer, then killing the Mesmer boss, I wanted to see if I could do it normally. Each time I was relatively close, so I felt like I could do it...just took 10 tries

I faced my doppelganger with a simple pet build, let little Iron maul their face off while I watched.
Went and unlocked the other professions, and got my 15 att points.
Then, I entered the Dragon's Lair. Nabbed Melandru's Resilience for my 2nd Elite, having 2 elites in this mission was nice, and it was easy for the most part, till I got to the part that I dreaded.
If there was ever a time to fail my deathless run, this would be it. Had to keep flagging my henchies so they wouldn't get flooded with Overcast, until she stopped casting that hex. After that, it wasn't too terrible to fight her, interrupted her Hibernation skill, and slowly whittled her down. Always feels bad to fight Glint though.
With that, I've reached Droks and I'm out of the Desert! Gonna grab full armor, and start working on the next 3 missions in the Cold!
Also, I will be getting Elite Proph Armor...I'm thinking of getting either Elite Drakescale or Elite Studded Leather... which do you like better?

Update! It's been a breeze getting through the rest of the Kryta/Maguuma missions. Besides fighting the mobs in Aurora Glade and the towers in Riverside Province, it's been a relaxing playthrough. However I just finished Sanctum Cay and I'm now in the Crystal Desert.
Now's the time to start worrying with the game ramping up in difficulty from here on. I'll be working on getting to the missions, getting 2nd profession changes, and grabbing my first elite. I'm not worried about Elona Reach or Thirsty River, but Dunes of Despair bonus will be difficult, as will the Dragon's Lair Bonus... Next update you'll see is either my death or me in the Southern Shiverpeaks, till next time!
