Hello everyone!
Over the last few months, we've worked on a brand new version of our Chat Filter tool.
This tool will automatically download the latest community maintained chat filter for Guild Wars, which aims to remove as much gold seller spam as possible.
It has been built up from the top to make sure it works as well as possible and we have also released the tool on GitHub as fully open source - you can find the source code on https://github.com/kevinpetit/legacy-chatfilter
How to install it?
You can find the latest version on Tools & downloads.
Drop the file in your Guild Wars installation folder. I suggest creating a shortcut link for this tool, as it will launch Guild Wars automatically after it has downloaded the latest file.
How does it work?
The program will load up https://www.guildwarslegacy.com/chatfilter.php (code is available in the repository). This will generate the MD5-hash of the currently live ChatFilter.ini file (also in the repository).
If the local file does not match the hash of the remote file, or if it can't be found, it will download the latest version from Guild Wars Legacy.
Once that's done, the game will be launched - either by Gw.lnk (if it can be found), which allows you to pre-enter your credentials in the shortcut using the command line launcher options OR Gw.exe if Gw.lnk can't be found.
How to help update the ChatFilter file?
You can help with updating the ChatFilter.ini file on GitHub, this happens in the file https://github.com/kevinpetit/leg…/ChatFilter.ini

Hello, I'm Iaerah (formerly known as Kevin - which is my real name), the Guild Wars Legacy admin.
The reason why I switched my name to Iaerah is mainly because Kevin is so generic, and if I ever want an NPC named after me in game, I'll need a more creative name 
Joking aside, Iaerah is also my main in Guild Wars 2 (I know, I know, shoot me - but I enjoy both games. Just don't see GW2 as the sequel to GW1).
I'm not only the Guild Wars Legacy administrator but also the founder of it, together with some other great people like Richey (who runs the Guild Wars: A New Hope Facebook group) and Max Borken. I'm quite easy to contact and generally spoken I reply quite quickly, but I have a tendency to read my notifications and forgetting to respond. If that happens, feel free to send me a reminder.
