Legendary Star Trek Actor has passed away

Nichelle Nichols has died at the age of 89, well known for her role in the original Star Trek series. She was also involved in NASA and had a beautiful singing voice. She was the spark for many women to enter into science and film.

I remember watching star trek as a kid and not thinking there was anything weird about a colored female as the head of communications, though I was too young at the time to understand just how earth shattering that was for not just women of color, but women in general! Many, many women have come forward saying how influential she had been in their lives and career choice.

She will be missed. :heart:

She really seemed sweat, it's great to read stories how she touched people's lives.
And yes, we didn't realize it, but her being on that show had an enourmous impact.

Sad to see so many beloved Star Trek Actors go over the last years.

Apparently, her ashes will shortly be headed to deep space after being launched via Vulcan rocket and getting released in space.
