I am currently working on a Necromancer that is still in Pre.
I have very little experience overall playing as a Necromancer.
The plan is to play as 'purist' as possible on my Melandru characters.
In other words, I won't be getting any kind of Title or Campaign Progression by having another person run me and then paying them with a Non-MA character.
So, considering I am starting in Prophecies with basic access to skills.
What is suggested to take as a Secondary Profession to get me through until Ascension?
My first thought is Mesmer for even more Energy Management, Hexes, and of course the Interrupt.
Any input is appreciated!

I usually have ele as my secondary in Pre just for Firestorm.
And I usually do all the basic class skills just to have learned them for later when I change professions for capping elite skills for heroes.
Before leaving I'd switch to Mesmer .

Ok, great! Thank you for the input! I honestly think I will do the same thing. Likely won't be staying in Pre with her very long, just because I am already doing 2 LDoA, 1 of which is also Melandru's

Mesmer for damage ! you can play an almost full domination build with some chaos storm & wasterell and you will absolutly destroy the game if you manage to ball the mobs. but a few points in soul reaping and it's done

That is solid advice, thank you! Kind of reminisce of doing Vaettir Farming as far as mobbing up and then Wastrel's to melt them all down!
Also, I am curious of switching to N/Rt once I have achieved Ascension, that way I can have access to a Spirit/Minion Master/Bomber
Any thoughts on this for MA?
