Well zodiac scepters arent really rare drops in deep/urgoz and having good mods is 1 in 10000 probably. just id it as unid its worth exacly 1k xD
The only stuff you should worry about ID'ing is req8
I always check nice OS martial weapons before ID'ing for +5e and 20% ench.
Not gotten lucky yet, but one day I'm gonna have that sweet unid perfect caster (or 19% and I'll never know) weapon.
As for the zodiac, you could probably sell it for a few ecto as a gamble, or just ID.
What gahata says is true, this also applies more noteworthy to wands and Shields aswell.
The Energy/health boost from being quite noticeable and easily to test yourself by equipping, getting hexed or enchanted before ID'ing.
Likewise the HCT and HSR, however exact % numbers are hard to come by.
I don't bother with shields, because it's too much hassle to test mods, like +hp mods are easy, but then you need quite extensive testing to see the second mod (if it exists at all), same with wands really (because checking whether it's a 10% or 20% mod is a long process if you wanna be quite sure).
