Thank you, closing the thread.
Bumping this thread for a question: When, in a PC thread I get told that I should merch the items, does that mean I should sell them to a Merchant NPC? I ask this because some of my items have weapon mods. Does that mean that, even with mods, those items are still worthless? That the mods themselves are not that valuable, and should spare the trouble of salvaging them anyways?
As some of you may know, I have recently started playing again after a long time, and I've found I had quite a lot of valuables in my collection. I am uploading the first batch of 20, for appraisal purposes. Many thanks in advance!
Thank you all for the tips!
I've decided I will open Price Checking threads for the weapons. In the meanwhile, I will be selling inscriptions and weapon mods, because those are easier to price check by myself.
Thanks for the replies!
As a best practice, never rely on the opinion of a single person for PC (especially when the PC is not done on a publicly accessible place) unless you already have some idea of what's the value of your items.
If I were you I would post my items in big batches (25-30 items) in the PC section here on Legacy. Better to do some more work and wait a bit longer than potentially getting ripped.
Ok, so, how would yo do that? I was thinking about posting a first batch of 30 items, then bumping again with another 30 items when the first batch is appraised. Is that allowed by the rules?
Definitely do not meet with one individual in kamadan for them to privately inspect. If you do, do NOT sell anything to them. If they suggest they want something -even if they say it isn’t worth much or try to imply they are making a good offer- DO NOT SELL it to them until making a PC thread here and giving it at least 24 hours for feedback.
Make a PC thread.
Check this page for more info about what items could potentially be very very high value (1000’s of armbraces.. LOTS more than a few hundred ectos)
ThreadThe truth about Pre-Nerf
I thought it might be helpful to collate a list of stats we know to be Pre-Nerf.
An item is considered Pre-Nerf if it cannnot drop any more. In other words, the possibility of the game generating these stats or items has been physically removed by the coders at Anet, mainly 2005/2006 around the release of Factions. The only way to acquire Pre-Nerf items is through trading with other players.
This is a list of items which in my opinion are truly Pre-Nerf (and the purpose of this thread is to…

I also gotta learn about price checking on my own, thats true. As i said, I am returning, so I need a bit of help at first. Are there more resources to learn about price checking?
So, I am new to the forum, and I have quite a question.
I am returning to the game after more than 10 years, and when I logged back into my account, I found out I had a lot of items. LOTS OF ITEMS. I managed to sold some, and got like 100 ectos.
Thing is, there are too much items, distributed between mule characters, and I wanted to delete some of these characters to create new chars and, you know, playing the game. I found this forum and the price check subforum, but honestly, doing a Price Check on 233 items seems a bit too much for me, and most of them probably are rubbish anyway. But, on the other hand, that which I managed to sell, double checking Kamadan Trade Chat, and whatnot, reported me quite some ectos.
The other problem... Selling stuff takes days, aaand even if I had valuables, I don't want to spend a lot of time sitting on Kamadan... In summary, I am divided between potential earnings, and wanting to delete the mule characters and actually playing the game again.
What should I do?
