I am not a pvper so I cant offer much advice and expect you have already done the obvious ie check out the recruitment section for PvP guilds and since you are returning (welcome back) ensuring that you have the skills and equipment for the current meta builds.

Hi, I think most people would say that you can do all the content with any profession and all have their place in end game content but mes may be easiest to get into speedruns with.

If you want to play through the campaigns as published, Proph then Factions then NF then EotN its a slightly different calculation than if you want to get heroes as soon as possible (as in PVX beginner team) and build up to a great hero team like Mesmerway.

Péter Kádár has videos on all professions including the new Which Profession/Class to Choose in Guild Wars Reforged? for New & Returning Players which may help you decide which class you would enjoy most.

I am sure more people with better knowledge than me will be along to offer advice soon.

I expect you have found a guild by now but for anyone else who is looking, LGIT is a large 20 guild alliance where all the guilds are LGIT.

We have speedruns daily and learning runs regularly for anyone that wants and of course anyone who wants to coordinate a run is highly welcome to do so.

It is remarkably easy to join lgit, there are no skill based qualification, we can tteach what you want to know. Just find a LGIT tag (watch out for imitators) there will be planty in Kamadan or embark beach or join the Discord

I also couldnt bear to leave my old inactive guild when I returned but my solution was to buy a new account (in teh sale) and start fresh with a active guild.

In event pvp such a Dwayna v Grenth I see people come and go from the starting area with waiting very long. I think it would be helpful to be able to see how many players are waiting to start.

In addition to what Neutral said above... you could have alook at the beginner heroes guide on pvx - following it gets you to a self sufficient set up very quickly.
