Bad timing on this, though. It kinda overshadowed our cupcakes...
That being said, there's always a line you need to make sure you don't cross - if you do, the results of that are yours to bear.
Is this justified? Well, it's not my place to judge about that. Fact is, people lost their jobs and perhaps got their name burnt as well - morally, that's a bit of a grey zone for me.
Very much this.
I wish it could be an argument of facts and PR apologies. It is frustrating to see an issue of sexism get invented over nothing. It really is tiring to see people create justifications when there are none in places meant for escape and enjoyment.

Juicy stuff. I had to make sure Stephen and Bill were still ArenaNet employees.
I would never wish someone to lose their job. That is their livelihood, their income, their passion. And their actions will make it very difficult to restart a career in that sector. I only hope they can grow and learn from this experience and become better individuals.
And those who know me... I am not good at being sad or depressed. All you can do is laugh at life and move on.
These weren't supposed to be farewell cupcakes, Kevin!

Well its a good thing the inventory bags window (F9) is now re-sizable. Oops, did I let that slip, too? Darn.

What would be the goal?
Getting level 20?
Getting titles maxed?
Items only available in this mode that transfer over to the regular servers after the season is done?
The appeal of D2/3 is incentives. First you need incentives as a reward, and then you need an objective to measure success to appoint those incentives.
It is a cute idea but GW has such a broad appeal with broad end game objectives, I feel like it would be hard to implement (ignoring the basics like a brand new server) without alienating certain parts of the player base.

Pay those big bucks kiddo. Always flattered to see another fan boy who could never develop the skill to compete against me.
Truth hurts. Retract bid. Found in game for 5a. Can't even compete against me on a bidding forum.
would and DID. It was considered pvp manipulation and thus a violation of EULA. (you can look up the old guru thread about the mass bans from a few years ago---and the reactions of folks back then to those of us who were only trying to help out.)
Wrong place wrong time. Purely coincidence.
If you think Anet is worried about 8 PvErs mapping a dead arena when they don't even ban the players that have been syncing champs for years - you need to take a step back and rethink it.
You'd only get banned if you reported each other.
I have a dentist appointment this afternoon.
As for the application of Codex Arena's rule of weekly skill deck changes to Hero Battles, what's the ultimate benefit of it, if I understood you correctly, Motoko? Why limit skill choices available there to a lesser utility set? Considering the outlined terms of play are already implemented at the related outpost...
If I understood the environment and meta of HB correctly (I really never did put a large amount of time into it, not to get past rank 3 at least) - there were certain aspects of it that were buggy.
Now, it would probably enlighten me if someone could list all of the bugs... But I do recall shadow stepping and healing teams to play a huge part in the meta. I'd hope that Codex decks would limit those gimmicks and promote a variety of builds.
I am genuinely surprised they never released White Mantle and Shining Blade armor for WiK.
I feel like that would have boosted ridiculous amounts of participation for exclusive armor to that content.
I still think applying the Codex Arena weekly skill deck change to Hero Battles is the way to go.
I am not wrong. I have experienced and lived through all stages of VoD.
You underestimate people's willingness to abuse game types to win.
The mash-up idea would favor defensive teams/VoD based teams more. As you could maintain your NPCs and farm the enemy's and just let the NPCs pound the opposing guild lord.
Also the assassinate or first kill idea seems to take away from the strategic portion of this game and promoting defensive play to ensure you won't die.
About bringing back VoD I would vote to that, if, they make it random, so people wouldn't assume and use "turtle" strategies also with less time for it to occur, 20 minutes at most.
This is an interesting idea - At least how I am interpreting it.
Are you suggesting the idea of randomized goals?
GvG Match Starts - Goal is stated at the start - VoD, Lord Damage, - 3rd option not created yet. Game randomly selects one? This way you can't depend on abusing one form of GvG?
