Well, the competition wasn't judged on how active someone is, or how many posts they've made. It was judged on the best pun, and which made us laugh.
Each entry was eligible for a vote, and the winner's entry received the most votes.

Right then. It's announce the winners time!
This competition was a lot of fun. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as the staff team here did.
A huge thanks to everyone who entered. We ended up with loads of very good puns to vote on. Some of them were top class, and really clever and funny. Several actually made me laugh out loud.
The delay is announcing was caused by Kevin coming down with a particularly virulent strain of man-flu, and a complication in the counting and correlation of the votes, mainly caused by us not deciding on which method would be fairest until this week. The thing with doing this voluntarily is that we all have busy lives and sometimes we can't all be in three place at once so getting the necessary replies took days. In the end once we had all voted, it was decided that each entry would get a chance regardless of who made it and if there were other entries by the same person. In the end, there was one clear winner with 5 votes, and one clear second place with 4.

In first place is Butternut with 5 votes for Hanuku Matata
In second place is hullunmylly with 4 votes for Shiro Tamagotchi
Very well done to the winners. Kev will be in touch in the near future to arrange your prizes. Please let us know if either of you has a preference of the Grawl or the pins. If you both choose the pins, they will to go to Butternut for coming first as the winner.

When you take a screenshot the client is pre-configured to temporarily boost your settings to the highest your computer will handle for a split second to capture the best possible resolution for the shot.

Have to be careful with credibility. There is scope for this to be abused, so we would need to consider very carefully otherwise it will undermine any efforts.

I think the community should be doing the same with the PvP synchers and those who cheat to gain the PvP titles too.

I myself log in as often as I can and take the time to report as many bots as I can find. It’s only a few minutes, but if more people did this there would be more reports for them to see.

So the judging has thrown up some.... challenges to do with how we decide. We’re working on how the sort those out. We haven’t forgotten.
In the meantime, anyone who’d like to donate multiples of 10 armbraces to me can influence how our decision is made. Obviously the more armbraces you donate, the higher your chances.

it was a hell lot of fun - brought back memories for sure! And triggered ideas for new builds - using classic wammo advantages with new PvE skills - some strong combinations...
regarding builds - we had everything: warriors endurance, hundred blades, defy pain an what not - weapons there were swords (crystas, long sword...), axes (dwarven...) and ofc classy shields (SWS, tower...) and bows (don't ask me skins...) for pulling purposes. Ideas also include hammer builds - I hope something will evolve from this - some old souls flourishing again
and a Tyrian r8 Serpent axe....

Don’t sell anything r7 or r8 to private offers. There are lots of low ballers around who will rip you off in a heartbeat. The bladed shield, ghostly hero and white reaver are the most valuable.

We are currently judging. Kev has had a few technical issues this last week which is slowing it down a tad. I think he has a virus, but he’s currently refusing to plug my Ethernet cable into himself (not gonna show you the diagram I sent him showing how to insert as it’s a family site).
I’m working on that though, and have arranged a team of big Turkish masseurs to hold him down while we insert the cable so I can finally run a Norton scan on him.

There are only 1 or 2 r7 13^50 longswords left uncustomised so really it’s one of those impossible to value items. Don’t take private offers, and list it for sale here. The only way to know it’s value is to see where the bids go. It will depend on demand.

I wouldn’t call it an oddity.... it’s a non max drop that can happen any time. There’s nothing special about it. I’d merch it or give it to a hero who needs a caster sword.

I didn't say "rules will not change".
I said there are no plans to change them. Yet -
It's worth pointing out that there are no plans to change the rules. While we always welcome suggestions, as things stand, the rules are not up for change.
Obviously we will be interested in what is said, but at this stage it's all hypothetical. Keep in mind that we are about to launch a major update to this site which will take a lot of work from Kev Da Dev for the next few weeks.

I have seen max post in pc's many times without even giving out a numbers,actually ive seen several do that without anyone doing anything.As a mod you are supposed to moderate,a mod shouldnt be obnoxious and thinking you are better than everyone else or even say mean things
Sigh.That isn't against the rules. I suggest you re-read them. Nowhere does it say numbers must be given. Some items simply cannot be valued with a number, and to do so is guesswork at best, irresponsible at worst.
Value the Mona Lisa for me.

So I am clearly one of the egos involved here as I am the one who sticks his head over the wall to point out the issues I have had with certain price checks. I'm not sure however if I am being referred to here as the bad guy or not. That doesn't matter really. It's an issue that needs to be addressed.
It's a tricky situation for me, because I am one of the mods for this site. And it is in my role as a Mod that I challenge certain price checks because while I accept my experience in trading is from a few years ago (however keep in mind that I only retired a year ago), I am very knowledgeable as to how trading and the wider economy works. I am very protective of our community, and because of my experience, I am extremely protective of our economy. Any challenging I do is intended to protect the interests of the economy as a whole, and I try to protect both buyers and sellers, and I try to stay impartial for a good reason. I know this is a losing battle, as the ease of acquiring wealth has changed the market immeasurably in recent years, and is why I retired.
So do I sit back and watch as people throw random numbers around or do I challenge them in my role as a Mod here, (and with my experience in trading and reputation etc)?. I'd continue to challenge it. Being a Mod has tempered some of my replies, certainly. But for me at least, the bigger picture of our economy as a whole, is more important than being seen as an ego who likes to get involved. Thing is, I do see it from both sides, but the welfare of the economy is directly influenced by price checks, and therefore we need to be cautious and objective.
I'm not the type to back down either, which I'm sure has led to some of the discussions becoming more.... animated... than usual. However I will always stick up for the bigger picture.
It's a genuine discussion, and I am interested in others' opinions. Am I wrong to try and keep it realistic, and should I shut up and let the economy eat itself? Or do I stick my head up over the wall and challenge it?

That skin with those stats is the holy grail for DoA speed clearers. Don’t sell that ingame or to private bids.
Most doa players want +45/ench, but -2 is also useful. It won’t go to hundreds of armbraces because it’s not +45/ench but it could still go quite high with enough interest.List it for sale and see where it goes. Demons shields are always unpredictable in terms of pricing so I’d just watch and see where the bids go.

Gw1 (gw) runs on the same servers as gw2. It takes up a tiny portion of their servers, and is in maintenance mode.. it would take a LOT more work to unpick GW from the servers than it costs to leave it running. I can’t provide the quote, but Anet has said that much.
While gw2 lives, so will GW.

I would add that it may be worth asking for a price check on the other items you have on that account too. Some things from that era have shot up in value in recent years, and you may have other treasures you’re not aware of too.
