No chance the insightful mod itself is bugged, and is showing as enchant instead? That would do it. I have heard of bugged staff mods before, just never seen one.

But you're probably right of course.

it's bugging me that I have (probably) heard of this before....

Pffft max. It takes a real man to appreciate a nice staff

Haha, if you say so dear.

However, something at the back of my mind, right at the back, in the shadows next to the "random info I once heard about " section is telling me I have heard of a staff like this before. I'm not going to dismiss it as fake so quickly, but then as I always say, sticks were never my thing.

Hold your horses Surge.... isn't that just a BDS which is missing it's inscription slot (otherwise known as naked), with an insightful (20%) and non-max of enchanting (15%) staff mod?

There are several of these floating around. It's rare, but not incredibly rare...
Zephyr has a collection of naked weapons, and he has a few of these. This phenomenon is more common in Nightfall skins as the drop tables on dungeon end chest items allows for them to drop minus their inscription slot.

    Unless I'm missing something....

    /EDIT
Turns out I was missing something...

It's one of those...... "nnnnnyeeeeeahhh..." shields. That's a technical term. Look it up.

Sure, it's r8/16, and it's a relatively rare skin compared to the most common, but those mods are waaaay off what a collector would bother getting out of his armchair for. There isn't a collector for either the skin or the mods.

I can't see a market for it other than an "oh my god it's an r8 so I simply must have it" bidder. And those guys generally have no idea what they're doing....

Personally I'd merch it as it simply isn't worth my time to sell, but if you really must sell it, take whatever offers you get. But don't expect it to go high.

No hostility there.... defensiveness not required....

One can never be sure that someone won't want it, and perhaps market value was the wrong choice of words... read desirability instead then. Anyone who wants it has no appreciation for the finer things, and likes junk, but that's up to any prospective buyer.
It does have novelty value however, and we all know how Ikki loves a novelty.

Keep it whoever telling you to merch it has no idea. tbh...

Yeah, we're all a bunch of noobs. Perhaps a little homework on our respective histories is in order.

Certainly it's the max for a r8 axe that can drop today, but it has absolutely no market value. R8 doesn't automatically mean valuable, and it not being 6-28 means it's not old, and can still drop. Only OS gold dwarven axes have any value. Inscribable Dwarven axes are never valuable.

    Greetings.

Most of you will know about our archive of guildwarsguru.com, which is hosted in a tab at the top of this forum (https://guildwarslegacy.com/misc.php?page=archive).

Considering we only had a very short time to grab the data before guru went dark, I think we have done a very good job. Huge thanks go to Smoke Nightvogue and Kevin for their efforts in acquiring and displaying the archive.

The purpose of this thread is to build a list of the most useful, most visited, and most popular threads from the archive, and provide a single stickied thread at the top of Legacy with clickable links to each of those threads. This is where the community can really help. I'd like to ask you all to sift through the archive and post the links to any and all of the archived threads you would like a direct link to right here in this thread please. You can go through it all over the course of several evenings, or just throw a list (with links - that is the important bit) together in a few minutes. You can provide as many links as you'd like. the more linked threads we have, the richer the archive experience. No one wants to go through several thousand threads to find the one you want every time.

    Go go go.

    Thanks in advance,

    Max.

    Pre-nerf doesn't always mean rare.

I'd say the r8 insc Colossal Scimitar is rare enough that a price cannot be assigned. Certainly not r8 swamp club rare, but still only two exist in r8. But number three could drop tomorrow... (it won't, percentages don't go that low)

It's worth whatever someone will pay. It's one of those anomalies, and that makes it priceless. Priceless means a price can't be assigned, not that numbers don't go high enough.

They can drop 8/16 in gold and purple and blue.. Normal mode only.

But you have more chance of winning the lottery. There are only a handful of each known to exist. I have seen more golds than purples and blues though. I'm not aware of any EotN shields whose drop rates have been altered. It's the same as the day EotN was released as far as I know.

    http://archive.guildwarslegacy.com/14%20Trader's%20Outpost/00006%20Unconditional%20Weapons.001.html

There have been two types of unconditional weapons. Genuine ones that dropped in the first few days of gw, and ones created by the exploit you mentioned, which appear to have been removed.. The guys discussing it in that guru archive thread are the godfathers of collecting and knowledge. They are our pioneers.

And for the record, info like that is precisely why we at Legacy created the archive, so it would not be lost to the mists of time ;)

The crystal desert bit does ring a bell....
Someone should look it up ;)

But your account of how the unconditional items came about doesn't feel right...but I can't add to it as I can't remember that either... I'm 95% sure it was a bugged keyless chest... in the Maguuma jungle?

Ooh ooh, I bet Emma knows.

Because (I think) crystallines never dropped from the bugged chest that gave the unconditional weapons......

Where is Ikki when you need him? He's the expert here. Were crystallines only ever from the HoH chest? I used to know the answer to this, but you know.... age and time....

Also, when it comes to items of this rarity, screenshots are easily and often faked so we only trust it when a respected member of the collecting community directly reports having seen one in game. No other proof will do.

The trouble is that there is absolutely no precedence to work from. No one has seen one like this, so it is impossible to gauge what sort of price point it might command. You may be right, or wildly off-mark. No one can know. There are simply too many variables here that affect general pricing.

But arbitrarily throwing around notions of a price to an as-yet untested item falsely creates hope (or even demand?) for such items. There is nothing to go on historically so no one can know.

The only way to test it is to.... er.... test it by listing it for sale and seeing where the bids go...

I'm happy to be proven wrong, but at this stage of the game's life, and for an item such as this it is all speculation...

Swagger is the word. X-factor. Pizazz. Ka-pow....

Non max and purple just doesn't have that swagger. It's missing that certain je ne sais quois....

The only thing going for it is the name, and the associated pre-nerfery.

6 years ago would have been a different story perhaps...

got another question: does anyone has ever seen a dual vamp crysta?

Never heard of one. The greatest multiple crystalline collector was in PhD till very recently, so I reckon we'd have heard of it if it existed, primarily because it would have been extremely rare back when GvG was still big..

    Great question though.

    I disagree somewhat.

Rare doesn't always mean you've won the lottery. I can see that it's not merch food for sure, but it's not worth a fortune. Some of the rarest pre-nerf non max junker staves still only go for 50k....

But then again, it's a swamp club.... an old non max pre-nerf purple swamp club. I don't see it having any more than just novelty value tbh.

    Max.

I picked up two more shields recently for my collection:

I'm gonna jump in and say no.....
Sure, it's r8/16, and that makes it rare. But rare doesn't always mean valuable. To be valuable there would have to be a market for these mods, and there simply isn't.

You may be able to sell it to a shield collector, but for it to be attractive it would need two max mods, yours has a non max mod. Also, nobody collects those mods, and the only collector for that skin worth mentioning is inactive, presumed retired.

Long story short, personally I'd merch that, alternately take whatever offers come your way... but you haven't won the lottery.

    Max.

Well first off, let's try to keep this civil. Don't get personal.

Secondly, Festive has every right to bring this discussion.

Thirdly, it seems as if a scam has indeed taken place, as a trade deal was agreed, Festive claims to have upheld his side of the agreement, and claims that Ele didn't, and went offline immediately.... That is the very definition of a scam. But instead of denying it, he went with "well you knew what you were getting into" as a defence. That's an admission, and by continuing to take that stance you are making it worse. It's like saying "well they shouldn't have left the keys in the car and the doors open". It's still theft.

Like Handler says, Ele, you have gone about this all wrong, and are making it worse. I think you underestimate the damage to your reputation, and it is likely most traders will steer clear of you now as most read this forum.

Guildwarslegacy does not allow trading between the two games, or real money transfer deals either, so no rules have been broken on this site, but we do have a policy of banning those who are known repetitive scammers. You have been warned.

This is exactly why the discussion section in Xulnai exists - for discussions around trading.
