Those shields are nice. So nice in fact that they woke me up to reply here with my usual warning:
Beware of lowball offers on those. You’ve probably already received a few private messages about trying to acquire them without putting them to market first. There will be demand for them as DoA speedclearers can use the demons shields. Granted, those guys prefer +45/ench, but -2 is sought after too, especially in the rarer skins
Actually predicting a price is tricky because it’ll depend on demand..
list them for sale here or you risk ripping yourself off for a quick sale.
Just a reminder to everyone that the Guildwars Guru archive is hosted here as well, and can be found here:

magnum opus
/ˌmaɡnəm ˈəʊpəs,ˈɒpəs/
noun
noun: magnum opus; plural noun: magnum opuses; plural noun: magna opera
Origin
late 18th century: from Latin, ‘great work’.
This is my magnum opus. One of each possible requirement for each skin that dropped as a Dual Reduction shield before the Great Nerf of 2006. Ten years in the making, it still remains unfinished. I could present it here with huge ceremony and pomp, but instead I’ll just leave this here. Words feel unnecessary and insignificant.
/Max out.
Hup two three four
Never mind.... my bad
Hi everybody.
It’s time for me to step away from the decision making process at Legacy. I’m hugely proud of what we have achieved over the years since we started, and I feel the time is right to step away to allow it to develop organically. I’ll stay on the team, but I won’t be driving anything forward or making any more decisions from now on.
When Guru announced they were closing, I decided that the community needed another home, as the notion of not having a site like guru was unacceptable to me. It soon became clear that the admin team at the New Hope Facebook group were thinking the same thing, and so it turned out that we had a group of people with the skills and drive to create a new home for the community. So we did.
I’ll also step down as a moderator on the site.
I’ll be watching with great interest how Legacy develops over the next few years.
I’m still here, just taking a back seat now.
Kevin will assume the role of lead strategist as well as continuing as the site developer. The plans we have in place for the future are still underway and Kev is still going to take the site forward.
Id like to say thanks to the community for their response to what we built, and hope Legacy will be around forever.
❤️
Max.
Whatever you do, do not sell that eternal shield to a private offer. List it for sale here - it will likely go high as it’s by far the rarest item you have there.
You’ll end up ripping yourself off if you sell it privately.
Thank you ❤️
I’ll find a good use for it.
Great idea for a thread.
I’d ask them to be more involved with the community. We’re working hard to keep the community united and give them somewhere to interact, and it would be awesome if they’d engage with us and arrange special collaborations with them.
Some of those fall into the”really really valuable” to “priceless” range.
But the most important question is are you looking to buy, or are you valuing to sell?
We all have a main character. The one we play most or the one we prefer for an inexplicable reason. But how did you decide on what that character’s name was to be? What influenced your decision?
My main is Max Borken. Named after a character from a Lee Child book, called Beau Borken, except his first name wasn’t manly enough for a 6ft5 sword wielding warrior, so I chose the manliest of first names: Max.
What’s your story?
Thanks Jack.
Looking to squeeze a little more out of them though. It’s the only set available.
R/B is 45a.
Max
That’s the problem. It can’t be valued.
1. Until it’s verified, it could be junk or priceless.
2. There is no historical data for sales of this axe so no comparisons can be drawn.
3. Your refusal to have it verified only serves to further muddy the waters regarding its authenticity.
Don’t trust any numbers you’re given on it’s value because there is precisely zero data on past sales. Any claims for having sold one in the past should be disregarded as there is a known scammer doing precisely this. We have gone years without any of these being available, then suddenly several appear at once. And all by the same scammer.
Read between the lines here folks.... don’t trust anything to do with anyone claiming to have a Tyrian Serpent Axe unless it’s been verified.
You guys are doing a mistake i am not inventing anything. If you dont trust me you can go ask "libra magdalena" guy and he will tell you the truth if hes honest. I asked for price check not for dramas. Thx.
Asking another guy won’t prove anything. This axe needs to be verified.
No dramas here, just due diligence by the community and Legacy staff.
Once it has been verified, there will be no issue.
But until then, the community will remain suspicious of claims like yours. Verify it, and all is good. However, the potential for the scam still exists at the point of the actual trade, and while Legacy cannot control what happens in game, the buyer would be strongly advised to use a trusted trade moderator to prevent the scam happening.
Verification of it being Tyrian is one thing, preventing the scam is another thing altogether.
Yes, but I point you to the last sentence in that link. He asked you to prove it’s authenticity and you declined. That’s alarm bells ringing.
I do understand your reluctance to drop it in an explorable area. And under no circumstances should you do so unless it’s for a trusted recognised expert to verify, because the other person could just pick it up and log off. Don’t get caught out. Arrange for a viewing here first with a recognised collector.
I also notice that his thread is currently being viewed by someone we suspect is a scammer who is trying to scam people this exact way. Coincidence? I think not.
Any trade regarding a Tryian Serpent Axe is a potential for a scam.
Special conditions for selling a gold TYRIAN Serpent Axe
before we allow your ace to be listed here you must get it verified as Tyrian. No exceptions.
But I suspect you already know this don’t you?
Display MoreMax, that is far too simple for this type of question.... You really should take more time to give a more detailed reply.
There is also
Get Hammer, bonk stuff,
get daggers and sort of swing around and try not to take off your own ears while stabbing stuff,
get scythe and (same as above, but try to keep your knees attached to the rest of you) slice stuff.
Also don't forget to give the spear wielders an honourable mention;
Get spear and chuck it away with all your might and be surprized that it reappears in your hand.
You’re quite right of course. As a dumb sword warrior, I’m guilty of oversimplifying a tad.
Get sword, hit stuff.
There’s probably more to it, but that’s how i’ve been doing it.
I couldn't begin to think of an accurate PC on this. Q8 and almost perfect is gonna bring out the heavy bidders for this high demand skin. Almost wanna say start it at 100a and see what happens lol.
Just no.
Heavy bidders won’t want it - it’s not perfect enough. Sure, it’s old and pre-nerf (haven’t dropped 8/16 in that skin since 2006). But the mods aren’t particularly desired, and the 2 off max virtually kills it.
It’s a fashionable skin these days, but I doubt it’ll go over 40a. In my opinion it isn’t special enough to spark a major bid war, although there will be some interest from the “oh my god a 8/16 Magmas, I simply MUST have it darling” crew.
It simply isn’t special enough to go high.
Bump.
Long way to go 😉
Hi folks.
I'm looking to sell these Pre-Nerf sword hilts.
Yes, I know 10/10 isn't pre-nerf, but it rounds off the set nicely. The others are Pre-Nerf. Just the 10/5 missing.
Offer here please as I'm not in-game much.
reserve is 45a.
Cheers!
Max
Forgive me for being blunt, but even a tiny bit of research on the wiki would answer your question very easily.
It’s very common for shields to drop with those mods. Chevy is right - it has no value
2g value :O if that was any cuter it might give you diabetes
Is that a lump sum or can I take it in instalments?
Due to the potential for scamming, no one may sell a gold Tyrian Serpent axe (gold r9+ Tyrian only as gold r8 is always Tyrian) without first showing it to a trusted collector who can verify its authenticity.
The only way to do this is to let the trusted collector hold the axe in their inventory in an explorable area. The opportunity to scam someone by swapping it for a Canthan Serpent axe is too great on this skin, and as the Tyrian version is worth many hundreds times more, this is the responsible course of action.
If there is a gold Non-Inscribable Serpent Axe for sale, and the owner tells you it’s Tyrian, but it is not listed for sale here having been verified, there is a good chance it is a scam. Buyer beware.
