Holy... how come I have never seen this thread before?

I asked myself the same question and did excessive research... The possible requirement depends on the unid value of items. q8 is possible up to 35g unid value (speaking of gold and purple items excluding purple staves, which work differently) while max foci will drop at unid values as low as 32g, shields as low as 33g and swords as low as 34g.
Second thing to know is: the unid value of items, that come from certain source, depends just on their level - and even though not shown on the target window as on mobs, chests do have a level as well.
Now there are chests of different levels:
(5-11g) lvl7: Ascalonian, Shing Jea, Istan and the chest during the quest "The Deserters" (which only generates blue drops though)
(10-18g) lvl11: Steel
(15-27g) lvl14: Krytan
(22-37g) lvl17: Maguuma
(32-54g) lvl20: Elona, Canthan, Kournan, first chest in sorrows furnace during Kilroy´s quest (nm and hm have no difference in chest level here)
(40-60g) lvl22: locked chests in Ascalon, Shing Jea, Istan, second chest in sorrows furnace during Kilroy´s quest (nm and hm have no difference in chest level here)
(50-57g) lvl24: all others (dungeon endchests, locked chests EotN nm, all other locked chests, ...it´s too many to list them all...)
Thus: lvl 17 and lvl 20 chests can drop max q8 foci, swords and shields, same accounts for mobs: lvl 17-20 can drop those, best chance is on lvl20s, since the lower possible unid values that mobs of certain level can drop are far more frequent than higher ones.
Thus referring to the thread: All that is stated in OP is agreed EXCEPT: Sorrows Furnace second chest will definitely not drop any q8 item (except purple staves since those work differently and are actually possible in that range)!
Furthermore I can fill you in almost all the gaps:
Sorrow's Furnace (Kilroy's Quest) Keyless Chest #3 (Purples only) - no (nm and hm likewise)
Shing Jea Locked Chest - no
Nightfall HM: Locked Chest - no
The Fissure of Woe Keyless Chest - unfortunately I have no clue, sry - never did this - but will do in future whenever there is time!

Normal Mode
Locked Chest - no
Dungeon Chest - no
Hard Mode
Locked Chest - no
Dungeon Chest - no

So far the regulars - now there is more chests though: the keyless treasure chests in nf. Those are weird: the unid value is generated differently on those, thus the ranges are not as easy to tell on here. I have far too few data on this since I can only open the chests every 3 moths - for the other items I have logged more than 10000... so see you in the next millenium on these You might want to add them in your list and the community might want to post screens: if you find a max DMG Focus, Sword or Shield on a chest, if you find any q8 item other than a purple staff. Best while on ground and reserved for you (black out name if you want) That´d help on this. Until we have proof of all this - there is uncertainty (yet I heard of q8 max shields/foci coming from the ones on istan - yet no screens)
So far by the statistics I can tell that only Istan and Kourna keyless ones have a chance of being able to generate q8s - all the others won´t. But on Istani and Kournan ones I lack data in order to tell for sure...

And on a different note: a source dropping max q8 foci doesn´t tell 100% it will drop max q8 swords as well... but those are details For chests the statement is true - so it´s ok in here!

The table=5 indicates how big your table is. Putting it on 100 will let the table take the entire width, 50% half of it, etc..

don´t rush it - we stayed in gw1 for more than 10 years - we are not the folks who need quick changes

also I found a rather confusing thing: whenever I post or preview my post there are some empty lines added to my "code" - noticed it in the tables, also it seems as though those empty lines between rows of the table code generate a bigger distance between the table and the text above it... dunno if either is supposed to happen?!

And damn that table=5 is even useful then! - Thanks for enlightening me!

Thanks there - changed it, looks better (even though my screen was wide enough or my font small enough to show the entire thing, so I didn´t notice)

finally I got a little time and here is the updated listvisible.

I´d propose some convenient changes - if that is possible (I´m not at all into this end of programming...):

a) maybe alternating color background for the rows

b) smaller height for the rows so the entire table doesn´t spread too far (with above idea it should be even better possible to have an overview)

c) Lines between cells and around the entire table - I see, the th version will do exactly that, but the text colour is too faint there

d) some options to highlight column and row descriptions

ok, I realised point c) and d) would be fixed by: 1. keeping lines with the td cells and 2. making the font black on the th cells

also does the table=5 mean anything? It has bothered me on guildwarsguru for a long time, as the 5 just seems to be a title for the table which is nowhere shown...

I recently tried to get some research content back on here (see https://guildwarslegacy.com/thread-453.html) but I have trouble getting any kind of table working. BB-Code, HTML or any option on the menu when posting a new thread/post - couldn´t find any working way to do it. There has been the BB-Code solution on old guildwarsguru which was very convenient - I´d also go into the HTML-coding, if there is a way to embed such in a post, the third option I assume would be too much. Hope you can help me - maybe there even is an option already that I´m not aware of?!

Paper Fan - somewhat useless yet somewhat matching - still of, but rare skin - I´d put it for sale and see... doubt it´ll get more than 10e - I might be totally wrong, but I´d expect like 10k personally
Amber - again difficult... but I see it getting more than 20e
nut sure on most - just to get a start at the PC I hope^^^(or is it outdated already?)

I have seen it short after the Mausoleum bug and just had to have it - if I remember correctly it cost 105e or 111e - a bargain as I see it nowadays - best choice! I even made several Builds for my warr using it, since it was too cool - Warriors endurance and strength/Scythemastery is a great choice - but usually melonni is happily using it - after all dervish might be the better scythe master...

Do you wonder what the game's currently dropping maximum and minimum possible damage, energy, armor, etc. for each requirement level are? We do, too! Let's keep notes!

Please post pictures so I can add the numbers into the table and the community has a way to verify it this way

q3 - q13 still drops in gold
q0 - q13 still drops in purple
q0 - q12 still drops in blue and white
min DMG for a purple q0 is higher than for a blue/white q0

min DMG for a gold q3 is higher than for a purple q3

Notes:

• This is a work in progress showing the max and min stats we've found so far for drops by requirement. If you find a better version, post us a screenshot and tell us when and where it dropped!
• Please be detailed when posting a new record here! We need the stats (of course) and the roughest time of it dropping (before or after the big nerf around realease of nightfall?) Ideally you have a screen of the item while laying fresh on the floor still assigned to your character.
• Even junky white, blue and purple drops may show us info on the actual minimums and maximums in the game's programming, so keep an eye on those and feel free to post shots.
• Pay attention to both the min and max damage listed, as there may be multiple records for any given req. (For example, 6-22 and 7-21 for the q5 axe.) Staves are a special case, as they have three built-in stats: HSR, energy and damage. Even if your staff has only one stat that breaks a current record, please post it.
• We will list the best and worst stat(s) we find for each req level. If you get an item drop with the same stats as are already pictured here be happy and a) keep them as a fun reminder or b) merch them instantly as you hit the low part of the record or c) sell to some crazy UW/DoA/whatever farmer, who will pay you thousands for it
• For items which still drop today, there is no difference between inscribable and inherent sources when it comes to the range of stats for any given requirement level.
• Thanks a lot to Luny for starting and taking care of this thread over the first 1.5 years!

Time is running... May 28th 2010 my first WTB looking for Tower Shields and Defenders... After all those years there are still some gaps to fill and I still got some ecto to spend on these

Priority List - I want these. Order of mods doesn't matter (unless specified). Prices are only paid once per item. If you feel they are too low we can talk, whereas I rather pushed them high as a motivation for you to find me those items. For every item you get me in contact with you get a 10% reward - if it is your own item you ofc get the price + the reward.

Max damage for reference: Axe 6-12, Bow 9-13, Dagger 4-7, Hammer 11-15, Sword 8-10, Shield 8ar.

Any Shields
- Any shield with a non max -5(20%) mod (these only come -5/20 or -5/19% now). For example -4(19%).

Those do still happen on purple shields - think this belongs to the gold shield section.
Furthermore I´d think it is very important to finally get this organized: when did which get nerfed? as for example there was a nerf on staves HSR mods being inherent and another one to not drop them max q8 anymore. A link to the Wiki Page of the Updates in question would be THE thing we´d have to find.
On Runes: Major and superior Runes with small rune icon, Major runes with -50HP ... here a wiki link to the referring update would also bring some clarification
