It treated me to my first 10demon/45ench drop.
*checks notes* Oh, it’s not a shield. Well at least it’s q9…
I'm still waiting for the opposite:
the 20/20 hct/hsr magic shield...

this feels so gooooooood
I've been thinking about this and there are a couple of points. Also this is generally a somewhat subjective topic so i do think a thread like this one is very good and necessary.
What's the purpose?
To me, the reaction icons are a very nice and quick way to interact with a post without actually writing a response, to literally non-verbally 'react'.
That does mean that each reaction should have a more or less clear meaning. A few/most of the new ones imo do not really have that.
My personal thoughts on the particular reactions:
-The Star of Transferance does not convey a 'like', nor does it replace a heart. I give fewer likes because of just that, and i do perceive that i may not be the only one doing that.
-The crying smilie is very clearly missing!
-A 'thumbs up' might have its place next to a regular 'like'.
-Kurzick and Luxon symbols may have their niche uses (for a armor/weapon combinations that looks like one or the other) but is that enough to justify them?
--small aside to that: there may be a related but kinda seperate discussion about whether to prefer a big selection of reactions vs. a smaller more concise selection.
-the one reaction out of the new ones that emerged as a good one imo (although in large part due to the missing crying smilie) is the Dhuum Scythe. It is a less sympathetic reaction to something thats perceived as negative ('dhuumed/ get dhuumed/ doomed' is how i interpret it).
-I personally suggested the armbrace and grail so i'm not complaining; armbrace does have overlap with ecto as symbolizing 'money/currency' but because of inflation i thought it was necessary , 'grail' to give as a reaction to high-end grail items (although it does not need to be spelled out 'grail of might' since thats what the symbol already shows, 'grail' as its name would be sufficient).
-The Z-coin is another form of currency to me, so debatable if really needed.
-I suggest a 'fire' reaction with a burning condition or searing flames skill icon.
In general using icons from the game for this website is really cool, and since Guild Wars has a large number of them there is a lot of potential!
I absolutely understand the want for more cool symbols to use, however that does not mean that they all should be reactions. Some symbols could just be smilies and as far as they are concerned, I dont think they need to be limited in number there. The more options, the better.
My immediate suggestions:
Keep the current reactions, add back the missing old ones (with heart as like) and then use this thread to listen to feedback and ideas and make changes accordingly in a continuous process.
17. q9 10/10 curses Plagueborn Scepter b/o 30e
max for q8 but that one off though
Should've kept the old ones and just added these on top.
word!
Well this little beauty turned up for sale today, it completes a naked set for me. The rest of the set I farmed myself over the last 6 months or so
show the rest of the naked pics
i have yet to do that one, but the screenshot gives me some hope
Well shit. That's unfortunate man.
On a side note, I wanted to react with a crying emoji but apparently we can't anymore. These new react emotes are kinda doodoo tbh
i like some of the new ones but there are clearly some important ones missing, and the new ones arent a good replacement
And guess how the game generates the most money: by accounts who are sold to botters. Nobody would need >>8 accs who doesnt bot (well except of some hardcore collecting individuals maybe).
they'd make even more money if they banned those accounts though. either botters give them more money for new accounts or there are fewer botters - ez win-win
Enter "Suspected Botter" then disable them from changing it until they've given sufficient evidence that they are in fact not botting.
How exactly would you prove that you are not doing something?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
About the whole debate, I know I'm beating a dead horse (probably not alone in that ), I would shift a lot more blame on Anet for just not doing much/enough/anything about botting. The fact that they let it happen just encourages it more, so it's not surprising to see it. Sure I don't expect active development on GW, but they could have an intern ban the bots as a little regular task like washing dishes. I know they obviously don't care but i think they absolutely should. The game still generates money (however little it may be), it is linked to the game they do still care about and also GW is kinda like Anet's WoW Classic. I would make the uneducated guess that now, over 10 years past the release of GW2, Guild Wars is past its all-time low of active players. Gaming in general got so shit over the last decade or longer, GW with its pure and oldschool feeling is actually refreshing. Another thing is that if Anet banned bots, it could/would have a positive effect on how GW is perceived and show that they care.
The 'dead game' argument, while I do understand where it's coming from, is bad both coming from Anet and players on here. The fact that people still play the game and care enough to post here means that it isn't dead (call me overly idealistic idc). The other thing about it is that it promotes this defeatist attitude that can ultimately be interpreted in a way that makes botting look ok, since 'it's just a dead game anyway'.
The 'the economy depends on bots' argument I think is really dumb and a non-argument: In the current economy with all the bots, yes, obviously they are a very big part of it. If we now imagine a hypothetical GW without bots they would just not be a part of it. The economy would be different and players would adapt. Simple as that. Also, like the 'dead game' argument, this one also makes an excuse for bots.
And i got this one ! Perfect for running !
nice perfect q8 dualred, where did it drop?
Q9 STR Bronze Shield -2 stance +30 hp - 1a

i'd say theres no value to be had other than using the weapons if you own the character they are customized to.
you could put them up for auction to see if it goes anywhere if you are so inclined of course
