marking threads as read?

Hi, is there some way for threads/original posts to be "marked as read"?

Say you browsed through 100 threads on WTS and didn't find anything you wanted. When someone responds to any of those threads, you see it again on the front page in bold text, but can't keep track that you already looked through their merchandise, so you end up clicking on it again just to realize (or not) that you already spent time looking through it.

But if they edited their post #1 to update their merchandise, then cancel the "mark as read" so you know to look through it again.
