The market for Tanzit's Defender

When I returned to Guild Wars after a long break one of the first things I did was go to Mr. Razorstone and pick up his shield because that look is so unique. It took about 3 weeks off and on casually hero farming it. I sold it yesterday to someone and am now looking to get another one/ several more if it proves profitable. They made a couple statements that I'll share here.

1. They had been trying to get the shield for 2 years

2. They would buy more Tanzit Defenders

From my perspective it's not particularly hard to clear the mobs to get to the boss, although you have to go through one other zone to get to him. He's a guaranteed spawn with 9 spawn locations. I see Red Fireball is pretty active in shield market for this game and invite their perspective/ anyone else who has insight into this.

I’d say pick a build to solo him. Go to the easiest/fastest point location in NM from the portal if he’s not here rezone. If he’s here clear the area but him then flag your heroes away from compass range and kill him. Rinse & repeat.

That shield is like 5-10e in the market, unless you find some scammer selling it higher.

I went to Kamadon to try to buy one about a month ago hoping it would be in that range. Over several hours I was only able to get one person to ping me back saying they had it and would sell it. They personally price checked it /said it was 40e, but that was lower than what they wanted to sell it for. After they decided to keep it I chose to farm one for myself. Since then someone has given me an offer I couldn't refuse for it (>1a) and I was forced to sell it. I'm curious if this was an anomaly or if this is just an item that isn't farmed currently. If the latter I'm considering going to war with the stone summit in Sorrows Furnace.

It's just that no one goes to Sorrow's Furnace anymore because people don't care about greens anymore, in its time the Tanzit Defender was a common green like any other, if today there were the same number of players as there were regularly back then, you could kick a stone and find that shield in a matter of minutes for a ridiculously low price, there are probably hundreds of accounts of people who no longer play with that shield sitting there gathering dust, me myself I had 4 and I gave 3 for free a few weeks ago to people of my alliance, keeping 1 for me.

But as always happens in this fucking game, some idiot start a "WTS" with a stupid price in it, and people that checks Kamadan Trade Chat just copies the same price to take advantage, even if it makes no sense. Kamadan Trade Chat is the best thing to find things and the worst thing to manipulate prices, because people have no fucking idea about prices and just copy what other people write, which is why junk items are sold on this very forum for abysmal prices, junk items that a person would delete or not even pick up from the floor, and yet they pay more for that garbage than for items with maximum stats.

Don't try to understand how people think about prices in this game because it makes no logical sense, they try to do it and convince you with mental gymnastics to justify their will to scam and take advantage of you, that's all.
