my only problem with PayPal is they're requiring me to make an account with them which I do NOT want to do for the recurring subscriptions.
I'm subscribed to another service that uses PayPal as a payment processor, and while they charge me yearly, I did NOT have to make an account with PayPal to do so.
I am NOT a fan of PayPal and their business practices

Every winner will also gain 3 months with no ads on Guild Wars Legacy and will get the trophy associated with this contest.

What do you need to do?
Well, with a Canthan New Year belongs a ton of alcohol... like rice wine! Enjoy the local delicacies, I'd say!
When slightly imbibed with copious amounts of alcohol, you might get some slips of the tongue. Like for example, Molotov Cock-Trail instead of Morostav Trail.
What we want you to do for this contest is ruin a Canthan name, either be it a place name / the name of an NPC or a skill name.
You'll need to list what you've made fun of and provide a link to the official wiki.
The funniest ones, or the ones that crack us up the most, will win a prize.
Judges for this contest are Iaerah , MaxBorken , Emma , cosyfiep, Anssa and Marty Silverblade - though the others in the Legacy Team can join in.
When will this contest run?
This contest will run between the 1st of February until the 25th of February. We'll try to post the winners as soon as possible.

No contests without rules, I fear:
- All staff of Guild Wars Legacy that is judging in this contest is exempt of participating in this contest.
- A Guild Wars Legacy account is required.
- You can submit as many entries as you want, but you can only win 1 prize per person.
- Any entries must be suitable for a family audience. This site is available to all ages. Any entries found to contain inappropriate content will be edited or deleted at the discretion of the moderators. Entries that are not suitable for family audience are automatically disqualified.
- A single person can only use a single account to enter. We won't send multiple prizes to the same address.
- Should you win we will contact you in order to get all details required to get the prize to you. If we don't get a reply within a week the prize will go to the runner-up.

Since the software change the previously supported GWBBCode does not work anymore. Is this an issue on my side or does everyone have that issue?

how do i get rid of "Moderators" " Hot Threads" and " Cloud something" on the right hand side which kills a 1/3rd of the page?
*edit* nvm. just added to adblocker then zoomed in on the forum slightly. fixed
Well, right now there isn't really an option to do so - but it does contain quite a lot of valuable information and it's not that obnoxious so I can't really remove it or make it smaller.
For smaller screens it should default to auto-hide though.
PS: Adblocks aren't really helping us, consider whitelisting us

Also,what is that samurai dude doing in the site background if its gw2 please replace it.
Themes are going to come back to this new Legacy, we're right now focussed on making this first design working and getting all the kinks out before we start making different versions of it.
The Samurai dude in the background is an image from Winds of Change, the last GW:Beyond release. It depicts someone wearing the Ministry of Purity's costume.
The reason for this is in the title - Legacy had it's biggest change, so it was only fitting to pick this image as the main background.
Guild Wars Legacy will never use GW2 imagery, we're a Guild Wars 1 fansite and not a Guild Wars 2 fansite.

Hello everybody,
Today we've overhauled the entire structure of the forum - everything should be a lot more logic now and several boards have either been merged or have gotten new subforums.
This should make it easier to find your way around Legacy and find the things you're searching for.
The overhaul has been done entirely by Marty Silverblade , so kudos and thanks to Marty for working this new structure out!
Also, we've brought the Daily Activities back to the sidebar of the site.

Furthermore: Some posts got lost (none that I´d find important, but if some are missing for me I fear some are missing for others as well...) like my most recent bump in my WTB and a bid in a thread in selling... or I must have dreamed to have posted...
Also cosy´s pm didn´t arrive, even though I got E-Mail notification for it.
But besides that - looks cool. Thanks a lot for the efforts!
EDIT: ok here I can edit my post, seems it´s just not working on my WTS thread and the gallery thread... maybe it´s for all posts done before the moveover...? Could you manually grant me rights to edit the gallery thread? I´d rather search for a general solution though, since I bet it´s not just me...
I changed some of the permissions -some were wrong following the transfer.
Is it possible now to edit posts or not? If not, could you send me the link of the URL so I can check what is going on?

The avatar was one with GoE text and picture of ectospasm and in there monks head with obby armor and text "Pleikki"Anyhow, so i tried it now, clicked checkbox on each PM of one page but when deleting it only removes 1 PM of the time, is there way delete multiple? XD (deleting hundreds pms aint fun 1 by 1
)

2nd! Conversations! i just deleted tons messages today before the update, but it shows i got over 3 x more conversations then allowed at the moment?
Is there going to be chance on the size of that? cus i allready struggled with old legacys PM box size xD (yes i do send and receive tons of PM's)Also! is there way to send PM from going to someone profile? cus i cant find it xD

I've checked on the old Legacy site and on my local copy, but it looks like your avatar disappeared on all of them (must have been that something went wrong) - can you describe me your avatar? I'll try to retrieve it from the oldest backup (which dates back to the 22nd of August 2017). If it's not in there I fear I won't be able to recover it.
I've boosted the maximum amount of PM's about 5 times, should you even run full again let me know.
On the profile, click on the user icon and click Create Conversation to send a direct PM
To delete them, click on the checkbox and in the bottom right there'll be a button. Click on it and choose leave.

I used to use Toolbox, long ago, for forcing Guild Wars in a windowed fullscreen state.
Since that was added to the game itself, I stopped using it altogether.

Welcome everybody on the new Guild Wars Legacy, a project that has been worked on for months in order to prepare everything.
Over the last 2 years, we've been using MyBB, but it has actually held us back quite a bit over the last few years - it wasn't an example of a properly designed piece of software and it started cracking at all the seams. So we decided to look into other options, that would allow us to grow further.
So over the last few months, I tested almost all of the available forum software... and I mean a lot.
Our requirements for the new software was simple:
- It should be fully responsive - a lot of you visit Legacy on the phone.
- It should be easily extensible.
- It should feel modern.
- It needed to support importing from MyBB.
After a thorough testing phase of over 2 months, we've finally converted over.
Now, not everything will have gone smoothly and we suspect many parts might be lacking or might be improved - please tell us when you find these area's.
For the meantime, we're doing our best to improve the website as much as we can.

Should you see an unacceptable ad here (for example, for gold selling), please create a screenshot and post this here so we can try and block this kind of ads.

Hello everybody,
This is a heads-up that Guild Wars Legacy will be down on the 21st of January 2018 for a duration of up to 12 hours.
The maintenance period is defined as:
21 January 2018 - 12:00 CET - 24:00 CET (CET = GMT+1)This downtime is caused by a major maintenance which requires that we temporairly close down Guild Wars Legacy - the entire website will be down during this time.
During the downtime, a webpage will be displayed which shows the progress of our maintenance, but you'll also be able to stay up-to-date on our Facebook page.
Why this long maintenance?
Well, that would be telling... But in all seriousness, this is a major overhaul of almost all parts of Guild Wars Legacy, which not only requires work on the hardware and server side but also some software and configuration changes. This is what causes the long duration of downtime.Why is the website inaccessible?
We're also going to perform changes in our database and performing these changes on a live board could, at worst case, lead to a corrupt database.. and we want to avoid this.But what do I have to do in this downtime?
It's a great time to go outside or play some Guild Wars. You know you want to.12 hours divided by 4 gives 3... Half-Life 3 confirmed.

There is indeed a requirement of having 3 posts before you can change your avatar.
This is an automated process that triggers three times an hour, so ideally you should be able to set an avatar within 20 minutes of reaching a third post.This is a precaution to avoid spam avatars

There are two things ive noticed that legacy lack that i used rly much in old guru, wonder if those are someting that could be added on new site.1st, Preview window when u have ur mouse over some thread title little window used pop that showd u 1st few lines etc on the thread.
2nd. Better search functions, ive allways used to search certain posts by user in threads etc if it could be added? like you once you open some thread in sale with 10 pages you could easyly find posts by certain person instead looking throw all pages.

The new version will have pop ups that will show you the first bits of a post - it works on the mainpage and anywhere else, really.
The search will be much improved too, I'm not certain that what you're asking is possible, but it's a huge improvement nonetheless.

Hello!So this may be far fetched, just thinking outside the box, any way to display if favor is active or how many achievements are left? This may not be possible where it isn't on a timer. Not sure if anyone else shares this interest, but thought it would be neat if I could see without logging in if it's favor as I may pop on to farm.

Chevy, it would be really cool to do, but unfortunately Guild Wars hasn't got an API to hook into to get this info.. we might be able to extract this information from a running client, but it's far from my cup of tea.

Today, I have posted the very first exclusive preview of Guild Wars Legacy's new site on our Facebook page:
As you can see, it's quite a different but still very similar look. I also resolved most of the mobile issues today - and I have a preview of it here (exclusively here for you guys):
As you can see, navigation is a ton better and you can actually easily reply on mobile now - it works flawlessly. I hope that will stop the requests for a mobile app ;).One thing that you might notice is that we've added an ad to Legacy - there's a single ad per page, no more than that. I hope everybody can live with this, but donations weren't cutting the cheese at all.
