Way back in 2011 an artist popped up in Guru's Nolani for all too short a time and he posted this after a hospital stay. The ele in the middle is BlackXI and the ranger on the right is Aeronwen, but I am unsure of the other 3. Does anyone know?

I have a feeling the left hand char might be Charlie Dayman and next to him Eryn Shadowbane. But it is all to long ago.

Marcus Ferret Way way back I used to communicate on semi regular basis with a couple of Anet CM's. Whilst they were extremely helpful with my art competitions on Guru and arranged some rather lovely prizes I am afraid my well thought out, logically expressed and ultimately correct views on the changes that were made to gameplay were politely ignored^^

Since then I have been heavily involved with the developement of some other games and my view is that devs should stick to their own vision and not be too interested in, or influenced by, players (except me ofc)!

I don't have any access to ANET these days and I dont seek it but I have the same right as anyone else to air my views on the unwelcome changes to a beloved pasttime.

You seem to have missed the point.

A lot of people in Pre are permas - they are there because they like pre. Not everyone is a trader or collecter. Not everyone who hates the destruction of of pre is annoyed because their precious item has become worthless.

For the players who get bored of pre there is always post, after all you were never meant to stay in pre.

But why take away exactly what some people enjoy? why remove what makes pre pre and make it just like post?

Maybe the devs do want to drive away the long term players who were content with teh status quo - after they probably dont get any income from them any more. But it is legitimate to recognise what has been taken from us.

Players who come for the novelty are not going to stay longterm. Players who enjoyed Pre as it was are going to be pissed off.

What's the point, why change what was unique to be just the same as everywhere else? It is lazy and destructive.

It would never have occurred to me to grab names I dont want for myself.

What is the incentive for a player to hoard more names than they can possibly use other than selling them?

This is an Anet argument that they make whenever they do something stupid and detrimental to the community - 'let other people have it it doesn't affect you'.

This is a lie

Allowing people to sell names creates the incentive for people grab and hoard names. This removes any attractive names from the pool available to normal players.

This is why I despise anyone who pays for a name, you are creating the market for bad behaviour. Buying the names is just as scummy as selling names.

My personal opinion is that everyone is free to NOT pay anyone for a name and that is the right choice.

I am inspred by how you keep going. Also you get way further than I would.

People have been happily playing in the starter area of GW for 20 years. (The Vanguard quests update pissed me off so much I left the game for years. ) Pre doesn't need to change.

What is the point in messing with pre? Do they consider it an expendable area that they can use to on which to experiment?

My old main (I left GW when 2 came out but still used it occassionally) has 1284 left of 1995 total

My new main - new account - (since I returned to GW 18 months ago) has 529 left of 995 total

LGiT will be celebrating it's (I think) 16th birthday soon and has a double alliance (Kurzick/Luxon) of 10 full guilds.

There are no skill/level requirements to join and we have players from all over the world.

We ask that you speak English and keep your chat polite and child friendly.

Apart from that the guild is what you make it, asking in chat for help or company will ususally produce a response.

The best way to join is to post in the Discord #join-guild-here giving your in game name and whether you prefer Luxon or Kurzick (or don't care). Then the next available officer with space in the guild will pick you up. Asking anyone with a LGiT tag in game should work (but watch out for copycats) but you are limited to whether officers are in game and paying attention to chat at that moment.

Do what makes you happy. I won't touch ironman mode because I know it will make me unhappy^^

Howver if you did want to try LDoA again check out presearing.com where the methods for getting XP at higher levels are laid out clearly. Specifically the Hamnet quest and farming the 2 quest foes there, right next to a shrine.
