Anything can happen in the world of make believe where people pull random numbers followed by the qualifier "possible".
Only way to know the price of an item such would be to put for sale. Maybe @Pleikki has a time machine and has seen this event?
Or maybe this 250a+ is the minimum that he would accept if he was the seller? I'm sure this hypothetical subjective value of what's "possible" in a world of infinite possibilities is relevant here..

Good thread. Always running into people who didn't realise this was a thing

We should legitimize cheating so we can tax it.
Botting in a MMO is comparable prostitution in society.
I now don't believe you that this isn't satire rofl
-
You are suggesting a sanctioned organized bot request service. People posting on legacy an item they want botted to "allow botters to make more money".
You want to tailor legacy to financially benefit people cheating at the game.
Only somebody with brain damage could think that was a good idea.
Hope this clarifies my previous statement.
-
Additionally, I think that a botting service should be allowed to be offered on the site. Pay x amount of arms for a specific item that needs to be farmed. This would allow the botters to make more money with the aforementioned restriction in place, while still allowing them to sell whatever else they get within the weekly restriction
This is parody right?

Legacy can't control things in game so what would a proposed solution be that isn't a clusterfuck and waste of time witch hunt?
Ban and blacklist known self confessed users of bots that have the audacity to blatantly share their cheating data? It's not a witch hunt or a cluster fuck when they have defacto / actually confessed. Ether Wana try and defend or deny this? Would love to hear ur retort

"The project goal is to find out exactly how rare items are"
Isnt this a touch pointless? Such data is of little use if it makes no diffrence to ur choices. What does it matter if you can show the Outcast drop rate is 0.1% rather than 0.2%? The result is the same, to get an Outcast shield that isn't gona get merched you playing the lottery with lockpicks. No amount of you opening the same chests is going to change the already known fact that if you want a good one u open an outcast chest and pray. This will be the same result wherever you go "data collecting" which in terms of possible locations is going to be very limited anyway. At best you going to find some interesting little known bits of info (Skin XYZ drops from this chest but not in purple).
If you wana do it, fill ya boots but the outcome will have almost no effect on anything. People will still run Pongmei for Q8, Rea's for Outcasts, tasca for sws/sws, hells for magams ect ect ect. Or maybe they won't bother cause competing with a cheater thats flooding the market with the once "rare" item u farming isn't all that appealing of a proposition.
PS. Looking forward to you saying to people "You have to pay 20a for this item nobody bid above 3a because is super rare 0.001% drop chance". That's gona be awsome to watch
-
I'm all for more data, collect a lot of it myself and find this very interesting.
I'm all for ending botting completely.
Hope this clarifies my positions
-
So we got to the stage where botters are so prevalent and so unconcerned about consequences they brazenly post the data from there ill gotten gains.
Sad, really sad.

Comparing to "similar" items has very little value in predicting a price in such a thinly traded market. As stated by himself and others its basically: 1 of a kind, it's the best ever, never seen another. How can the price of something claiming those descriptions be in an relevance to another? You could say that this item that did sell is "less desired" or "less rare" so if prices scale to rarity then it should be more. But we all know that its how prices always work. There is dozens of other factors that make past price of even identical items a crap predictor of future prices. To anybody who trades in rare items this is obvious but seems to be completely forgotten when it comes to giving price checks.
Yes PC should look like that. 100%. (With 1 alteration "give adequte time" as i stated. Anything other than that is pointless speculation.
If you like make it wait 1 week after bids stop. That should prevent taking bids to soon shouldn't it? Another simple solution.
-
So a price check should be this should it:
I guess 100+ or 200+. Also could be 300-400a cause a different item at a different time with different buyers happened.
.....but put for sale a find out.
This is all nonsense. Just skip it and use the last part.
@ardunain as initially stated my comments apply to everyone not just pleiki. Not just picking a fight with him. Seller should ignore any price or range conjured from peoples imagination.
