Today was a kickass day.

I used to envy dudes standing behind the Xunlai Chests trading day in and day out in LA "WTB / WTS Dome for 100k+xxx ecto". I'd sit about halfway down the hill and admire the unattainable items with a couch pillow covering my lap. Nightfall comes along and then I see it... the most sick nasty of all swords is introduced to the game.... the coveted Elemental Sword. I wanted to be that dude. Elite AF rocking the most sought after sword in the game... standing on the bridge in Kamadan, stroking egos on the hill in LA. Match it with a stupidly difficult to acquire torment shield and black warrior obi. That would be my Magnum Opus. I WILL get one of those as a natty drop and I WILL get black warrior obi armor by tongue punching my way through FOW / UW... and I WILL dig out gems from the depths of DoA to get that non-matching torment shield. Not bought, traded, gifted etc. etc. I stopped playing for a long time.... come out of my hiatus and find out nobody gives a crap about them anymore. But damnit, the love never died.

Commendation Farm brought a little Nostalgia today. The First Dual Mod I ever dropped was almost identical to this right around 2006. Good Stuff!

Been having an odd string of luck on the Grenth's Footprint Run.

Had two SSS drop from the same chest on back to back runs (Second was a Grape)

Then I had these two drop back to back from the same chest as well...

Seems things happen in two's!

But that last run did help me recoup some lockpick money!!

There was a period of time around 2008 where you could go to your guild hall with another high level player that had the location you wanted. You’d join their party and they would return to the last place they came from (usually the town/outpost you wanted ie: doa) and they’d basically mule you around the map. This was patched fairly quickly though. There were quite a few level 2’s running around the corners of the world that didn’t belong. Useless… but still awesome.

I’ll do a quick comparison running hell’s solo, then add another account to the party and see what I get. My brothers account has historically better RNG than mine, and also seems to effect the spawns when we get out and about. We’ve always joked about how I “suck at RNG” which obvi makes no sense :p

Hello all,

I’ve been experimenting quite a bit with starting locations for the Pongmei runs, Tascas, etc. I’ve been playing for a long time and am guilty of getting stuck doing things “one way”. It wasn’t till this last year that I realized the starting locations effected the chest locations.. which got me noticing having real players ALSO effect chest locations. I ran Hells Precipice with some of the fellas from PhD not too long ago and saw chests spawn in locations I've never gotten while solo running. I’ve been looking all over the forums for possible research on this, but I’m coming up short.

My questions are:

Do starting locations for a specific zone matter for the level of the chest / effect the outcome of the drop?

Are there preferred and or more efficient starting locations than others? Ie: Maatu vs Boreas vs tangle wood.

Is it better to multi box accounts and run the chests in the same instance?
