Foes are too low level to drop gold there in nm.
My guess would be feathers farm in nm (the Sensalis)

I would merch the bo staf and the wooden buckler straight away.
The q10's 15^50 i would give it to heroes, or 5e max.
Oni blade should be around 25e
Gemstone axe is 5-10e
Emblazoned defender is nice, 25e maybe ?
I would personally merch the flatbow / chromium shards / Fellblade, but wait for more opinions.
No idea about the q8 focus, but i guess around 10-15e

That's, for me, one proof that drops from chests are generated at the same time as the instance (and also chests locations on the map, but that's harder to prove).
What could have made your test "faster", would have been to only CR in prophecy, since you can only drop 6 differents elites tomes (rather than 8 on Faction, 10 on NF/EOTN)
Theoretically, you could drop 16 of the same elite tomes from 1 chest at player #1 opening it, but I don't even want to think to the odds xD

And no, you can start to attack them no problem, they're stuck on you anyway.
As for regular traps, if you see too many rangers (especially with a derv) you can do 2 spikes, kill the first few groups and kill the last ones after, it slow down the run, but best having a longer run than die

for the 20/20 sets you can craft some cheap one from Gertrud in Vasburg armory.
Once you double checked your items, i'm sure you will reduce your items list. Then I'm sure you can post the pictures (double check the legacy rules or send a PM to mods, they will be able to tell you if you can or not).
You don't have to upload it as an attachment, you can upload it on imgbb for example.
Also you can check on https://kamadan.gwtoolbox.com/ for the mods price, and some insc weapons

Yes the "problem" with Pongmei is you have such variety of pool drop in the chests (luxon, plagueborn, core (am fah and jade), kurzick) that at the end of the run you opened 1-2 chests of each.
Targetting a more inclusive area make your chances higher to drop the item you're looking for.
Remember that (almost) all areas contains chests, and (should) have the same percentage of dropping those items, after that's regarding your preferences
