In a recent unexpected act of generosity Tyrant made one subset of mine complete: all +10 +30s vs dmg-types. (I know 2 of them are still higher req than 9 - I´m working on it!)

oh lord. What can I say... that's what I love about the game: those items that are so rare that even with that many players and that many years into the game they are truly unique. And that there are items that can still drop, which would be the first of their kind. The mystery and fascination in the hunt for those treasures and those vaults of collectors that are like museums - presenting the finest uniqueness in the guild wars universe still baffle me and keep me into the game - even after all the years. This game is one of the best games out there due to the design of the drop system!
Those q7 15^50 twin hammer, cleaver, short sword, the q8 15% uncond axe... that trolls magmas, q8 20/20 prenerf staves... those are highlights in this national museum of gw history - a glimpse at the titans of an ancient age, presenting a level of perfection that can no longer be achieved by mere mortals.
Thanks to all those legends who posted and let us enter the secret vaults revealing a glimpse at the crown jewels of guild wars! Showing us how a collection can truly be perfect.

At the beginning I read all the stats - but after a little while I just read the names - I mean the stats were always perf :O and that -1/-1 shield... even q8... 
It is possible that this one could of come from noob island. I think I got 1 or 2 from there but gave up on it quickly because of the speed of farming it. Either way that was still in HM but might explain the lower value?
Noob island could go as low as 40g unid meaning 164g id. So that'd be an option! Or from the few nm runs you mentioned?
Correct! Undercity, in HM too. I was initially doing NM for chance at req8 but the rate of purple to gold was incredibly disheartening, and I found more often then not when a Kappa would actually drop it would be purple. HM was nice cause I made a really nice amount back in Elite Tomes too.
It was also I estimate a 70/30 split between chest running and farming on my Ranger, also in HM.
The one you highlighted dropped in nm however - look at the gold value - for hm that is 204g+ from hm chests in canthan chests territory 
After all: at 176g it was at max 43g unid value - might be possible it was even in the q8 unid value range 
but man, that is one awesome drop! GZ
yup it indeed seems as if few items from collectors were never changed with the nerf. They do not count for the research but might also be worth mentioning. I'd add a category in op called "out of range items from collectors and quests" and keep track of those there - always fun to see such thanks for the input - it shows there's at least someone else interested - so legitimates a list!

But damn... at 33 g already... that is insane! I'd have expected 34-35g as you quoted me... that means that they might be more common than I thought... but ye maybe not I didn't see a lot dropping will merge it into my statistics asap and see what the maths say about the outcome

What items are in maguuma and elonian chest drop tables that wont drop in canthan chests? Atm I can't think of any and running those two in nm feels like a waste
That is just personal taste I guess - maguuma and elonian chests have a higher chance for the core skins, since - as you correctly stated - there is barely any skin that couldn´t drop from a canthan chest. This said you can say that running canthan chests is a waste, since the chance for a q8 caster short sword is way lower (that is like the holy grail to some) thus - just personal taste. I´d just leave all the options here - which you prefer is your choice and nothing to be calculated.

it was a hell lot of fun - brought back memories for sure! And triggered ideas for new builds - using classic wammo advantages with new PvE skills - some strong combinations...
regarding builds - we had everything: warriors endurance, hundred blades, defy pain an what not - weapons there were swords (crystas, long sword...), axes (dwarven...) and ofc classy shields (SWS, tower...) and bows (don't ask me skins...) for pulling purposes. Ideas also include hammer builds - I hope something will evolve from this - some old souls flourishing again
even at 2g - damn. Axes are weird sometimes - like scythes
the problem is probably connected to the fact why the happen in 7-xx dmg (10-xx respectively) whilst max dmg is 1 lower...

If you don't play the rings of fortune / 9 rings unlucky maxes first usually. Just like if you don't buy unids you *probably* will max treasure (if you chestrun a lot) before wisdom because 10k in gold drops + gold chest drops never happens before 10k chests. This is kinda assuming hm but we all know Red...

But I maxed unids first (currently 18k unid, 10k chests) - running low lvl chests and farming gargoyles waaaay too much contributed their part... next project: 200k luck via ascalonian chests - wohoo! Just 800 runs - let's see if I get anything for my max q0 14^50 collect...
Magmas was the only thing getting me to HM chestrunning - and sss/sws - but who'd run high lvl chests anyways...? No q8s... nuff said

my statistics for the weapon type are starting from maatu keep and running all chests. Indeed the start does influence the run quite a bit as well, and ofc the area. That explains why you had fewer shields than my statistics would predict and more swords So in summary you might wanna do statistics for yourself as to how many swords you get in percent. (A set of 25 times 40 chests or 15 times 64chests is a good start to have a somewhat reliable value. - roughly 1000chests) The statistics for the items´stats however is independent from starting point or whatever.
So a more generally appliable number would be: 1 out of 4500 swords from lvl 20 source is statistically gonna be q8 max. Meaning if you run a route that yields 2.5% swords you calculate 4500/0.025=180000 to calculate the amount of items=chests you have to do to get one.
pongmei gets you roughly 13% foci but just 3.9% shields - that´s part of the problem there
statistically you´ll get a max q8 foc every 186 chests, a gold one every 1060 chests, whereas for any shields you´ll have to wait 2300 chests on average for max q8, for a gold one even 13k chests. For swords (just for matter of comparison) 80k chests on average for any q8 max one, for a gold one 460k chests, for a caster around 13Mill chests or so - gl on that!
Ikki - your 40k chests sound a little pathetic compared to that
but it´s gambling - even the first chest could be q8 caster Shinobi anytime - so I have fingers crossed ;D
