  • Campaign-based books do not get chapters

    Sorry, thanks for the clarification (English is not my mother tongue). I made different missions / books and realised, in some case I didn't get the chapter. If I remember correctly, it was The Flameseeker Prophecies and Young Heroes of Tyria.

    I know for sure, Shiro's Return never troubled me.

    There are no addons installed. Only one thing: I had to switch on an old Windows PC because I have some trouble to start the game in Ubuntu 21 after I updated it from 20.

    Yesterday I tried Gates of Kryta HM the third time to have an example, and it wrote the chapter. So today I tried Augury Rock because it can be done quickly, and after the second run through I had the chapter. After, at Divinity Coast, I had the chapter after one attempt.

    Either there is a delay for the entries, or it has something to do with the fact that I had already started the two books several times. I only finished 1 or 2 chapters, then I disposed of the books because I needed the space.

    I never threw Shiro's Return NM / HM away, because the book is already more than half full.

    I will do more missions to test whether the chapters will be entered.

    I didn't get the book Night Falls NM anymore, because it only works up to Sunspear rank 8 and Lightbringer rank 5. This also counts for rank 8 by the Master Dungeon Guide NM, but I haven't reached the ranks there yet.

    I am looking for advice: When I do missions, no chapters are created in the books. I always have only 1 book of each type in the inventory. The last time I tried, I put the corresponding book first in the inventory before entering the mission. What am I doing wrong?

    I started with GW in 2006. First I bought Factions, then Prophecies in 2007 and Nightfall in the same year. GWEN also joined in 2007. I still have all activation cards

     

    I was active in my first guild for years, eventually becoming an officer and finally even the leader. As life goes, I became inactive in GW and the guild also dispersed. Only one friend in a neighbouring country I'm still in touch with - I even went to his wedding this year.

    But in 2021, a bit because of Corona, I realised that the game still exists. And I picked up where I left off.

    Use a keyboard with programmable keys. Best if your keyboard does the calculation, not your computer - the anti cheat software shouldn't recognize it. I use an Logitech G15 since I play the game and never got a warning. But this keyboard is over 10 years old, so you could only buy it second-hand. Here are some present models:

  • GW doesn't start because can't initialise 3D output

    WINE doesn't create a virtual machine. It is sort of an translater. I do not run any kind of VM.

    I did change to Xorg, but it didn't change anything :(

    As I mentioned, I can't find proprioritare drivers in the update / driver-manager. There's just nothing.

    Thank you for the expand of keywords for google, as english isn't my first language. :thumbup: I'm still stuck. :|

  • GW doesn't start because can't initialise 3D output

    I play GW on Ubuntu with WINE 7.0

    Since the updated from Ubuntu LTS 21.04 to 22.04, GW tells me it can't start because it can't initialize 3D output. I tried to force DirectX to start but the OS tells me its already running. I don't have an graphic card, I play with the onboard graphic chip of my Intel i5. I can't get any additional driver from the system - I'm probably too early.

    Also I'm not very skilled in Linux. :blush:
