I've been thinking about this problem for the last 2 hours while drinking a few beers and indeed the game seems more distracting now.

Gosh I wish we knew what was going on at Arenanet regarding this. They've never banned anyone I've reported to my knowledge, and they've even admitted in the past that their report function didn't function as intended. Having said that it's pretty awesome that they banned 75% of the accounts that your friend reported. Do you know if your friend had several accounts that he reported them on? Just trying to figure out what your friend may have done differently to get the report function to work.
Maybe one day the cleaning lady reconnected the plug, which everyone had forgotten. (Noise of W7 at startup)

What in the heck is going on here???
There was a gap in PvP where there were no more players on GW, like 2010-2013. Some modes could even be farmed with several accounts while playing against yourself, like Codex.
Then, following this and the abondante of Anet concerning the follow up of GW, the players started strongly to include bots in quantity, all modes included.
On the one hand, there were not enough players to create matches anyway. On the other hand, motivated players face bots / syncro, which will ban them due to their higher numbers during a match.
In short, PvP today is intellectual suicide. Either you are there to maximize a title and therefore you play directly or indirectly with those who have bots / syncro. Or you go elsewhere.
And since you've come a long way, PvE and bots aren't much better. Don't think that today an economy still exists in this game. Future majs or bans? Nothing to do, the damage is done there is nothing to see, circulate.

Favor only increases the gold item drop chance from foes. Chests are'nt affected in any way.
Edit: As for the spawn rates, that's entirely RNG dependent unfortunately.I don't know if "rare items" means gold items or the same as rare skin. For me it's clearly the rare skins that fall more during the favor not the number of gold items. Or both?...
QuoteThe September 26, 2013 update increased the drop rate of rare items when favor of the gods is active

I didn't see this topic right away. It's funny, i had already written it this week, i was thinking about it for a while, after all... sh*t! The paving stone is thrown in the pond! ->

"and so it begins..."
Isn't it more like:
"and so it ends..."

As soon as you sell an item in game, you accept that the player can do whatever he wants with it, it does not belong to you anymore.
Otherwise what? You want an FBI profile, to make sure it's not a ******* IRL? Or worse, maybe IRL he's tagging masterpieces, the deceiver! Damn I sold some stuff to a *******!
I'll stop here, i don't want to pollute this topic any more than that and give you the change, Pleikki's screenshots will make me feel much better.
-
the collector probably didn't farm himself these items. He or she just bought them. Its just a selfish move to customize them.
a metaphor in real life : you buy a beautiful painting that is unique and you put your signature on it. It ruins the masterpiece in addition to the fact that you did not paint it. Its same for that, you put names on items that you didn't farm yourself. so sad and so shameless. It ruins the beauty and the purity of the item and consequently the beauty and the purity of this game.
If you don't like it, that's your choice. To make such a stupid parallel, no.
Customizing weapons in GW has nothing to do with tagging a master cloth IRL. Already for some weapons, it adds 20% damage which can be a major power asset. For my part i customize my precious weapons on my main, because even in case of hack and even if they are destroyed, the hacker will not be able to recover them. They are also weapons that i would keep forever, as a definitive one.
In short, everyone has their own thing, but stop giving examples that have nothing to do with it.

So i have more respect for this area now

On closer inspection, the 3D output errors are due to a problem with the graphics driver or directX.
I found someone with the same problem, GW1 + Wine on Linux + output 3D fails, here is what he did:
QuoteI fixed it! Apparently since I am running in 64-bit I had to install some lib32 NVIDIA files. Thanks for all the help anyways though
QuoteIssue was needing to add the 32bit compatibility libraries on his 64bit system
There must be the equivalent for your intel driver. However, as i don't use Linux, i don't know where to find the installation packages (listing) and you should communicate the exact model of your CPU. Also check that everything is up to date with the latest versions, just to be sure.Note: a general computer tip, if you want to be helped more simply on (computer) forums, notify your hardware and the exact versions of software you use. This gives valuable indications, when you want to solve a problem of this nature remotely. The must is a system report file or a terminal report.

You make me laugh, i assume, it's funny but without any concrete relation with a potential GW3. The subject should rather be entitled: letter to Santa Claus. I thought I'd read a bit more about Anet's recruiting for a new and unknown game. Instead, i got some indigestible paving stones about "my fantasies and me".
If a video game is developed, it is first of all on an economic model. Then comes the rest (design, mechanics, etc). Factions and Nightfall were developed at the request of NC Soft, to make more money from the GW1 license. The economic system of GW2 was tested on GW1 (adding content in game = adding content in the store, a classic today in video games). Even the updates of GW1 these last years are linked to the store (discounts, new offers).
I'm not going to stop you from filling 50 pages with fantasies, but the company that would (eventually) develop GW3, is not going to take these into consideration.
Welcome IRL, that's my only thought for GW3.

Wine is indeed not a virtual machine, but uses similar functions.
If the problem occurred with version 22.04, it is a software problem related to this version. Only a new installation of the old version will prove 100% that this is the case or not. So the 2013 topic is HS and talks about a general graphics problem, not just vis a vis Wine.
Now i don't know if you have done a "clean install" (installation without data recovery, in a first step, on a blank disk) or a simple update. If you were on Mac OS i could go much further with you, but i don't know how to interpret the system report files of Unbutu.
I also suck at English, i translate my texts with DeepL and the pages with a web browser extension. But the Unbutu forums, exist in all languages, just find the right one. On these forums, i think some people will be able to interpret your requested system reports and help you with more precision (or eliminate some leads).
Now to come back to the installation i advise you to follow the steps to install Wine 7.0 correctly, if you have not done a Clean Install and follow tutorial. The problem could come from an obsolete file, which is not up to date or simply installed and which Wine needs as resources. I don't know if you are familiar with sudo commands, but it is not very complicated. Here is a tutorial i found to install Wine 7.0 on Unbutu 22.04 (english) HERE or (french) HERE. I don't know what language you speak.

Hi, i'm not very good with Linux, but i like to mess with computers in general. Here is what i found under Google:
Ubuntu 22.04 LTS Disables 3D Acceleration For Guest VMs With GNOME Boxes / Virt-Manager
Test this (?) ->
QuoteYour graphical issues may be related to the use of Wayland. By default, 22.04 is configured to use Wayland, after a fresh install and even after upgrading, and even on Nvidia cards, where Wayland support is very young.
You therefore may have better luck running on Xorg for the time being. To switch to Xorg, log out. Before entering the password, select the cog wheel in the bottom right corner and select "Ubuntu on Xorg".
If you later wish to try Wayland again, do the same but select "Ubuntu" instead.
Or that, involving the GPU driver integrated in the CPU (?)
QuoteI experienced all of these issues at some point and I think I have figured out the solution. There is something wrong with the 510 version of the NVIDIA driver that is marked as "proprietary, tested" in 22.04 LTS.
To fix the graphical problems after you load into the game, downgrade your graphics driver to version 470. In Ubuntu, you can do this using the "Additional Drivers" program. After a restart, the problems should go away.
In any case you are by far the only one to have this problem with version 22.04 ->

I found it.
Even though Firefox was installed for a long time and everything was correctly configured, there must have been something that changed during the August 3rd update (Firefox 103.0.1 (20220729222726).
After clearing caches, cookies, permissions, exceptions, deactivating modules, adjusting some settings, privacy mode, etc, nothing changed.
I simply run Firefox in administrator mode. No pop up window came to confirm, would you allow... and i didn't need to do it again.
After re-enabling modules, etc, opened Firefox normally and everything is ok, scrolling is smooth.
-
interesting... that's 2^32-1 seconds expressed in minutes - means it's the standard 4byte integer that is used to store the time for favor and is counted in seconds - whereas just the rounded number in minutes is displayed.
As it is not displayed in real time but in response to /favor or to underline started or finished, it is normal.
-
Np, they were included in the : etc
I have only 2 also under Mac OS : Ghostery & uBlock Origin.
-
I didn't immediately think to check under Mac OS as well, i do not have latency under Firefox. I'll see about clearing caches, cookies, etc, on the PC tower.
-
Hello, the site since recently, causes slowness, when scrolling from bottom to top and vice versa, during the navigation in topics. This had never happened before.
I tested the site with Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Edge. Only Firefox causes slowness. Whether i'm logged in or not, it doesn't change anything. Whether i use the mouse, the sidebar or the directions on the keyboard for scrolling, it makes no difference. No other tabs or windows are open except GW Legacy. No other website causes this.
To see perhaps at the level of the coding of the site, with respect to Firefox (?) Or maybe i'm alone in this case (?)

Whatever the campaign, you can always use the procedure i outlined by looking at the wiki from the last cooperative mission performed on the map of the campaign concerned. In case none of them are done, you can go back from the first cooperative mission of the campaign, following the quests in the opposite direction, backwards.

If you took a primary quest from Lion's Arch and deleted it, it's easy enough to find. There are only 2 primary quests given in Lion's Arch, listed on the official wiki page, these are the 2 quests with a "!" symbol next to them in the list (see the Lion's Arch wiki page HERE).
If on the other hand the confusion of the meaning of your message, points out that the main quest was not in Lion's Arch, but only 3 side quests, that's another story, you have to see what you did last.
In case you simply deleted the main quest from Factions (which obviously does not depend on Lion's Arch, which is not in Factions) just proceed simply, look on the world map of Factions what is the last cooperative mission you have completed. Then type in the name of that co-op mission on the official wiki. On the page of this one, you will have on the right, always, the thread: previous quest, next quest. Then you just have to "follow the thread" via the redirection pages of the wiki, in order to find the pnj who gave the quest you have deleted. It's easy, there are only 3-4 quests maximum between 2 co-op missions on Factions.

That is way to much for just a run even from those at are pro runners back in the day and is that in 5 minutes or less because it should be.
5 minutes for the Obsidian armor run, with TB++ to skip the 2 blacksmith quests, it's already very very fast.
Then, i don't say this maliciously, but i would like that they stop with the Trade chat Kamadan, like go see the prices there it's the good ones. No, it's not, it's an indication at most. To speculate on this chat, it's very easy with some accounts and WTS, WTB. The prices are manipulated, not all but.. :p (you can correct me on that no matter what, it's just too naive for some to make it an exact science, i'm not aiming at gab999 by the way).

Today, as it is, there is no real economy in GW. There are less and less players and next to that, bots. The strongest in this game is the bot, not the human. Trying to keep up with them is foolishness in this context. Nevertheless, supply and demand always sets the price of some items requested by the community.
-
In the end I think the problem in all this is the unjustified increase in armbraces. There was a time, yes for 250-350e = ~4 armbraces. Today 250-350e = ~2 armbraces. The speculative bubble is more at that level. It would be logical to lower the price of items sold for armbraces (like all in-game sales items).
-
There has been some price inflation due to a few sales lately (speculative bubble?) but generally 250-350e not more. See if you can still catch this wave before the price drops back to what it was before.
