Official steam deck control layout!

I have a few thoughts about some of the added weapons:
EotN Pre-Order weapons imo are clearly fancier than the average skin which would warrant dungeon end chest exclusivity. They also strongly resemble the themes of the different EotN regions.
Glacial Blades (Sword and Daggers) thematically really fit the Dragrimmar Dungeon which could really use some more / nicer exclusives and thus they belong there. I also think that they will (and should) have the fixed icy mod as the preorder item. As much as i like zealous on my daggers, the glacial visual element is very prominent on the skin and it should be in line with other weapons like that (FDS, IDS...).
Hourglass Staff has similar elements as Clockwork Scythe, it needs to be an Asura Dungeon and the only matching choice is Oolas.
Darksteel Bow looks Charr-y and thus belongs in one or multiple Charr Dungeons.
The other former PvP weapons don't need to be dungeon exclusive, they are similar to other skins with different tiers. And they can be region-specific, i.e. Etched Sword = Norn Area, Granite Edge = Asura.
Nightfall Pre-Order Items should not be tied to Mallyx or realm of torment, they should just be general random drops. Maybe tied to some specific areas or enemies, like the Soulbreaker could only drop from the blue Dervish Djinn which would kind of match its visual style.
Both Nightfall Pre-Order weapons have fixed elemental mods, for the scythe's skin it is visually justified but the spear skin does not really have any fire or glowing elements that would warrant the fire prefix. Then again, the spear looks more generic anyway and it would not really matter too much imo.
Factions Pre-Order items look like they could just be random Canthan drops (I don't mean this in a bad way) and imo that's what they should be. Put them in Urgoz and Kanaxai chests as well for good measure, so we can have both OS and insc. versions and everybody will be happy.
The Spiritbinder should be Ritualist req exclusive imo, it's in the name.
I don't have many thoughts on the other weapons, the ones 'available everywhere' are obviously much more random and for Tyria exclusives there aren't really any Tyria specific elite missions which would mean that they're probably somewhat random too.
btw. there already exists a drop research thread for the upcoming new weapons:

Also why is canthan targe only available in Tyria???
apparently it was a prophecies pre-order item
-
As far as weapons are concerned, I wonder what requirements/attributes will be available.
Glad I bought my mini Ghero a few years ago for 80a
something tells me we're not getting chimeric prisms with strength req and energy
-
i guess minis in pre-searing are big winners too
Miniatures[edit]
Additionally, a series of miniatures previously limited to special promotions and contest prizes will be available from new hard mode quests available at Embark Beach. Unlike their original versions, these cannot be traded between players. These quests will send you to replay the story missions and endgame areas of Guild Wars to prove your skills once more, so prepare for a tour of your triumphs to earn these miniatures.

I asked them in party chat about any plans for 20th anniversary, and they said we should be getting new quests, including rewards of rare minipets that haven’t been available for years! Really awesome to see the ANET team online and interacting with the community!
gotta panic sell my IGs and kanaxais real damn quick omg
Oh boy, am I glad I did

look at the date of the announcement...
maybe it was an April Fool post, like they used to do back in the days
and they posted late because they were on vacation or just overslept and forgot
maybe they hype us up and then the actual update will be the shutdown of the servers. and all those years of anet saying they want to keep gw running were just part of an elaborate cruel joke
-
not how this works... also favor
You want to prepare to farm before favor hits. So you're spending your favor time as efficient as possible. So this actually should work like that.
1 remaining achievement can take as long as 20, the point of this thread is precisely to not have to wait an indefinite amount of time.
Favor btw

My guess:
Weapons (old): my best guess would also be /bonus (preorder etc) weapons. I highly doubt that e.g. swamp club will be returned. This is way too specific and I doubt in the OS knowledge of current anet employees.
I actually think it could be the opposite:
Those few nerfed drops don't require that much special knowledge. It's a few skins that you can easily find out with a little research (if thats even necessary in the first place, we're talking about the company that created the game) and thats it.
Pre-order items on the other hand would set kind of a weird precedent: They are items that you could never get from gameplay, tied to buying a special version of the game. First of all they would kind of compromise the sales of the (admittedly only really remaining single set of) bonus items you can get on their online store. And second, where would anet draw the line? It would be arbitrary if not ALL of the bonus weapons were added. And then why stop there and not make the divine aura available for everyone or make mini kuunas earnable in-game.
I'm not arguing for or against it, i just find there to be issues with that logic unless we flat out get everything that's ever been a bonus code.

I like the word permanent here. This is pretty damn exciting alright!
Big F to the miniature collectors among us. You are in our thoughts and prayers.“Untradeable” so the tradable versions will probably still be expensive I’d imagine. Who knows which minis they will be adding to that though.
I’m pretty excited about “Permanently adding previously limited weapons to world drop tables”. Does this mean swamp clubs? max q7/8 again?! If that’s the case, same can be said to all the low q collectors “Big F to all the low q weapon collectors/hoarders” 😂the tradable limited minis will lose a lot of value, even though they will still be useful as a currency imo.
quite the big implication for high end trades honestly.
nerfed stats will remain nerfed, its just going to be skins that will become available i would say with 99% confidence
