is it from prophecies?
is it from prophecies?
Is it a nightfall skill?
^
Does it cost more than 5 energy?
Is it Ritualist?
it IS a Nightfall skill!
you have half of your guesses remaining...
The story so far:
-Spell
-Not Monk or Derv
-Elite
-Nightfall skill
-Does not have an AoE
-Does not target an enemy
-Has a duration
Does it belong to a core profession?
A couple of people have PM'd me asking about AoE and duration, so I'll try to be more specific:
If any component of the skill's effect is applied to a specific area, that skill has an AoE. The AoE can be the entire compass, and this needn't even be mentioned in the skill description, e.g. Heal Party. It also need not hit every valid agent within that area, e.g. Chain Lightning only hits 3 enemies. Unless all components of the skill will affect any valid agents, REGARDLESS OF THEIR POSITION ON THE MAP, that skill has an AoE.
If any component of the skill's effect takes place over time, or after the initial cast, that skill has a duration. That effect need not be the skill itself e.g. whereas Hundred Blades applies a specific effect to your effects monitor, and you can see the 100B icon, Hunter's Shot will apply Bleeding to your target. Bleeding is a separate condition to Hunter's Shot, but it's caused by the skill, and it has a duration (determined by your points in Marksmanship, as a component of the skill), so I would say Hunter's Shot has a duration. The duration also does not need to be timed. For example, Recall can last forever (until it is manually ended or removed), but it still has a duration; just an indefinite one.
does it target an ally?
(Marty you forgot it is nottt a dervish spell)
Is it Spirit Strength?
Is it Weapon of Remedy?
no Has, it is not Spirit's Strength!!!
9 questions remaiiining
Is it a self-targeting skill? eg. Ether Renewal, Unyielding Aura.
is it an enchantment?
Jagged Bones?
is it a mesmer skill?
Master of Magic?
Hey, clarify this please: you answered Has telling him that his skill guess was wrong. But don't we win automatically when guessing the right skill? Right now it looks like we have to guess it right AND to be the daily picked question.

Yeah, your guess (Weapon of Remedy) could still be correct. I realise this is confusing, but I can't answer multiple questions per day without being unfair... however, I am trying to come up with a new rule to make this less AIDSelicious, although it might make it more confusing xD I want the game to be fair and fun for everyone though, so if you have any suggestions for the new rule, please post on the rules thread. Any rule changes will not take effect until the next game starts, of course..
so we still have time to narrow this down instead of just randoming picking from all the possiblities that remain (and we have yet to narrow it down to a profession so there are still quite a few skills remaining!!!)
(just to repeat my guess) is it a mesmer skill?
(we know it is an elite spell from nightfall, that has a duration, does not target an enemy, has no AoE ...we know it is neither a monk nor dervish skill--did I miss anything?)
Oh, wow totally didn't think guesses would be counted as questions. Sorry to everyone.
Then I'll ask, is it a weapon spell?
P.S. cosyfiep, I'm pretty sure it can't be a mesmer skill
yeah probably, but just want to make sure (it would leave us with just necro, rit, and ele--oh and a few sin spells)
Oh, wow totally didn't think guesses would be counted as questions. Sorry to everyone.
yeah a guess is still a yes/no question =P I thought that was obvious, but I'll update the rules to make it even moreso
EDIT: actually, it very clearly says "I'll answer one "yes/no" question per day, either until someone guesses the skill or y'all run out of guesses" on the first line of the rules, so I'm not sure how to make that clearer xD
nooope not an enchantment

Order of Undeath?
oh...by my guess we have only 5 skills meeting that criteria
I will pick Xinrae's Weapon

Since its not an enchantment... weapon of fury!
it's not Xinrae's Weapon! 7 more to go...
Order of Undeath?
weapon of remedy
Contagion
Weapon of fury?
Mr. Donger it is not an enchantment.
