oh, that is a hard one. Fiep (the mousey in my avatar) likes the sound of music because its from Austria and he lived in Vienna prior to coming to live with me.
I like so many movies...right now I like the Star Wars the force awakens (have yet to see the last one), though I have liked most of the Star Wars movies overall. Star Trek II: the wrath of Khan is a great movie as well. I really wanted to like the next gen movies with Patrick Stewart  but alas, the writing was just not there. And then we have the Harry Potter movies---think Askaban is probably my favorite of them.
Will have to think really hard which one is my favorite though (and if there are more...)

My favourite movie is Total Recall, as I usually like action/thriller movies.

we (husband and I) watched that a few days ago.
My most favorite is Serenity.

My favourite movie is either Lord of War or Requiem for a Dream. Basically Jared Leto = life.

I can't ever narrow it down to one film. I like many different genres.
My top 3 (presently lol):
Hang 'em High (western)
Empire Strikes Back (space opera)
The Thing (1982 - horror)

Okay, I've been thinking a while about this and I think I've decided.
Pineapple Express
I can never remember the ending for some reason..... so it's like watching a new movie every time! -
It's a toss up, and not because of Kevin Costner!
Either Dances With Wolves, because of the way the sensitive story line was handled,
together with the beautiful scenery and occasional offhand humor...
Or Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.
Robin Hood books and movies have always been favorites,
but I think the cast outdid themselves on this version.
I miss Alan Rickman!

I'm not sure it's my 'favorite' since I watch lots of movies, but, it's the only one I bought a digital copy of since I couldn't find it on netflix, hulu, or amazon prime video for free.
"Idiocracy" is pretty hilarious, I love a good comedy. It's kinda odd, it was a satire but seems to be turning more and more into a documentary.

Just saw Solo, which is now my favorite Disney era SW movie by far. Loved it.

Good Will Hunting.
