So, I recently hit level 80 on a fresh character and started playing the Heart of Thorns expansion. However I'm struggling quite a bit with my gear. I bought some weapons from the trading post, but I'm starting to think that my current equipment isn't good enough. I'm having trouble surviving fights and dealing enough damage to progress comfortably through the expansion.
For comparison, I also leveled a Necromancer using the free level 80 boost. Since it came with a full set of exotic gear, I find it much easier to survive and kill enemies on that character than on my Thief.
So, I have a few questions:
What's the best way to gear up a freshly leveled Thief with exotic equipment?
Are there any recommended builds or guides for a fresh level 80 Thief that offer better survivability?
Is the default Necromancer build that comes with the level 80 boost good enough, or are there better builds I should look into?
I'm not necessarily looking for the highest DPS build. I'd just like something comfortable to play while progressing without constantly struggling to survive.
