The Journey

This series will entail a number of credits of people who have made certain things possible throughout my collecting career. I do hope you enjoy. I have based my collections upon what I can fit in a heavy equipment pack, that meet every need of utilitarian nature that I desire, whether that be Req8 solo farming, Sorrows Furnace, chest running, PvP, etc. My Ranger has always been my heart and soul for GW, and has been what I have always focused on. I have a few other collection pieces on my Warrior and Assassin, but I will save those for My Favorite Weapon Sets as they have never been my primary focus.

I will expand further upon this philosophy of collecting around usability and equipment packs later on. More to come.

The Jade Sword was relatively easy to get all those years ago, but the Eternal Shield was a few years of poking heh. Thanks for Finally selling it to me Coconut, I do very much appreciate it! It is a mainstay and a extremely usable shield for me and it will be loved dearly.

I had not seen Aris on in years, until one day. First question I had for him was... Do you have a Req8 cold +HP shield you'd be willing to part with? He gave me quite a fair price and I think it looks quite nice with the Jade.

This Defender is a special one to me, it was something that I would never have thought would have happened. A true gentlemen and scholar of this game was kind enough to sell this to me for a fair price as he had a duplicate. The one, the ONLY, Red Fireball! I can't express my thanks enough you kind-hearted legend, you make this game better for all of us.

This shield was from a classic collector I wish I would see more of these days. He was always kind, respectful and had a passion for Jade. Thank you for this prenerfy beauty. It truly inspired my entire elements shield collection. It was the start, which lead to a 3 year journey to find all the shields which further enhance a Rangers elemental resistance, which has been completed. Much thanks to you pequeno!

This was the last and hardest shield to find. After years of advertising in Kamadan, for this exact, specific shield, with said specific mods, I recieved a PM. A PM from a friend. We had done Sorrows Furnace quite a few times together with a group full of players and had conversed over a year or so. They had explained that they had no idea I had desired such a shield, even though it lived in plain sight in their bank. So here it is! Once owned by the legendary Crystal War, then to Hrwakka and after that, sold to Zaishen Kaya and then unto me. Thank you very much Zaishen Kaya for allowing me to complete my collection!

The first Aquisition of bows since my return in 2018. This bow rekindled my yearning for collecting after selling things I shouldn't have upon my return in 2014. Thanks Kabong

Currently this plays the role of my solo FoW Forest farmer

This bow was something that was unexpected. I always saw Master Ranger Nente welding this bow so it was engrained. Phyllida Spore gave me a hell of a deal on it. Poor Phyllida sat in Kamadan trying to sell this thing for way longer than they should have, and somehow no one would buy it. Luckily, I saw the appeal to own an Ivory, to achieve Master Ranger status. IIRC it only ended up costing around 40a. I saw Phyllida last week and I didn't get to talk to them for more than 5 minutes after years away. They are alive and well. Nice to see them on anyways and thanks for the wonderful bow. They even recognized the GV and remembered selling this to me. I couldn't imagine a better Charrslayer bow.

TY Raining for the Charr mod as well. You hooked me up when that Flint kid was trying to rip me completely off on one.

My Ode to Spun Ducky. Dang man, if I were to only own three items, these would be it. You sold me 2/3. You were getting out of collecting when I sought these. I can't express my gratitude enough for helping me get the Ornate and Dead bow. You are a mysterious figure, who knows more than the vast majority about this game, much like Red. I do appreciate stumbling upon your little crumbs of knowledge across guru and legacy, it always manages to blow my mind! Many thanks Ducky. This is the pinnacle of PvP bows for me. San I know we've had our moments, but DW I still love you. These items live safely within the customization haven I have created. The Zodiac you sold me is still my SoOsc Bow and the Fire Staff(My favorite staff skin) is when I need to pop off some Ench's so that is much appreciated.

This is my all time favorite scythe skin, especially in the nostalgia department. I dare not let that on when I poked Pleikki about it. He sold it to me and I use it frequently. Thank you! Thank you Blind Was My Fury! That was the goal to have a diverse collection to be able to play all the martials well on one character, along with the utility for farming that a ranger naturally has:) I can't say any of the shields will go anywhere either, I do not plan to add or subtract any more!

I have absolutely no clue where this came from, saw someone advertising in Kamadan and gave them what they wanted! Great find, and jives well next to the Twin Hammer. Core skin Prophecies items have always been my favorite!

I've always loved this dagger skin.. Onaryen Rage was on a hiatus, and it took months to get him to log in after letting these slip away when San decided to sell them. I had to work a trade out but these are a great function, and form to the Ranger! Thank you very much for allowing me to own them, I know you liked them very much. Haven't seen you around much these days, but I hope to see you come back soon!

This is another find that I wish I could remember the name of the person who sold it to me. One of the most nostalgic bows for me and many others. I remember back in the day when the Storm Bow was the gold standard for which all other bows were held to. In the background you can see my favorite mini pet as well, he lives permanently in my inventory:)

This bow is a special one to me, not only because of its sheer rarity, but because of the person kind enough to sell it to me. Raining Ecto I have always had a sweet spot for this bow, and he gave me a friend deal on it years ago. I would say it meets or exceeds Kromp's +5e Fleshy horn-bow in sheer rarity and size, no pun intended. Ok maybe a small pun. Those who know what they're looking at, know, but most skip over it and never notice what this really is. Many thanks Raining to parting with this and letting me own it, this has been a staple and a star in my collection. It currently fills the roll as my Sorrow's Furnace bow when Duoing with my good friend, or soloing.

Another random find in Kamadan, it ended up costing a hand full of ectos. Gotta have a short bow in the mix. I think Woo would be proud! Anyways, this is what I stick birds with.

I had the owner of this bow added on my friends list for YEARS until one day he logged in. I had to give up a few really nice items to add this to the collection, but it was definitely worth it. Thank you very much Derviche Ony!

I utilize this as my Hard Mode bow. It does an excellent job ripping through the defenses.

Last but not least, the Truncheon. This has always been my favorite Wand skin, especially in the early days. This is THE Guild Wars wand skin IMO. In 2005 my good friend Ecto Sacrifice and I would run around Prophecies exploring on our Necromancers, just mystified at what we'd find around the next corner of this wonderful game. It's been great having such an awesome friend to play this incredible game with and I'm glad he returned a few years back after some serious convincing.

I gifted him a bow I deemed as the most fitting necromancer bow one could have, and a week or so later he gave me this. I was not sure how much I'd use it, but I have since found myself using it quite often to get random HSR's or as a Tank Wand. I especially like it with Mending touch and Remove hex in Fort Aspenwood as well as SF running.

My goal was to have a super tidy collection of usable things that I really enjoy playing with. This is how I keep my inventory to check all the boxes for gameplay I enjoy.

A big thank you to all who have traded me over the years, including those not mentioned here or have disappeared from years gone by. I have never been a trader, but thanks for accepting me into the circle and making my collection come true.

I could never bring myself to use a nice blue sword with a blue single mod shield, I am not sure why. But this set checks all the boxes for me, especially since I am a huge fan of -5/20 +30 shields and I love a good prenerf baby set.

I added one last thing to the line up. A PvP bow I was after for quite a few years. I got ripped off hard by Rice aka Sadist Illusionist

At least it was fun seeing your q8 +5e chaos axe and all the other stuff you've hoarded over the years.

My advice to all the newer collectors, you will never get ahead so don't start, the people who have all the stuff will never let you get away with a fair deal. Very in line with the richest of the rich IRL.

I've seen Kromp ask for a q7 15^50 summit axe for a q8 16% death 20% death deadly cesta. I've seen Emma ask for 1000a for a q7 naked reinforced buckler. I've seen Pleikki ask 1750a for a 2 off q8 crude shield. I've seen San no life kamadan for years, ripping off returning players. Lastly, of course, Rice here with this doozy of a shafting.

To anyone thinking about collecting in this day and age is play the game/make an iron man character and avoid the sweaty no life trading chimps who utilize this game to boost their non existent ego irl via pixels. They will not help progress your collection, but attempt to rob you blindly if they know you want something. It will save you a lot of time, hurt and disappointment.

Red fireball is an absolute legend for allowing me to own this shield. I inquired about it for a few years because this was my end all be all warrior shield. I love a -5/20 +30 shield. He finally reached out telling me he was ready to sell it. My only, and best defender/towers have come from the legendary red. He found a q7 shield mod set he was missing so he stated I would give him the exact armbraces for him to get it. He said he no longer needed this one because he found the grail q8 -5/20 +30 defender. A huge thank you to red! you are one of the most genuine people in this game and have always been an amazing person. It is always a pleasure seeing you in game.

I already had the FDS from Cpt Zabimafoo, he was gracious enough to let me own it. Was one of the first items I got upon my return to collecting. I paid the price, and was immidiately told I was ripped off by the big dawgs. So I custoed it, sure glad I did! Thanks friend, good to see you back for the anniversary.

The eternal shield was gifted to me by my good friend Health. We made a joint effort to get this shield back after trading it away to the legendary Adar Galand. It sure was hard to wrestle it back, but we finally found a solution we would all be happy with! Thank you very much Aldar and Health I love you guys

The axe, a huge thank you to Swift! You helped me out tremendously when you pmed me that day! I will never forget the graciousness you showed to me, and allowing me to own this. You gave me a fair price because you wanted it to get used! I will sure use the heck out of it my Lvl 10 arena friend! Lets get that going soon I owe you one!

Lastly, my only hammer. I've had this thing for as long as I can remember. what some call a basic skin, but one of my favorites for classic style points! I wish I knew where it came from to give them a shout out as it certainly didn't drop for me. A big thank you to a random person on Ascalon's hilltop lost to time.

A kamadan find and a legacy find, emma once asked me for 1750a for a q8 ornate shield -2ench +44ench. I got this one for 40a after an intense bid war a few weeks later on legacy. The axe appeared in kamadan for 500a
