488 is the max of "normal" items to roll.
the exception is drops from treasures in nightfall, that can roll up to about 660gv afaik.

yup, 488 max for regular drops, treasure from what I know highest is 648. (at least 660 wouldn't be a possible gv for a gold item and highest I have seen was 636 I believe).
and seeing the skin of this item it is very likely it came from a locked chest in the realm, where those high values happen regularly.

Uh could you elaborate why 660 isnt possible? Multiples of 4 should always work for gold items?

Highest base I can see that I have in my sheets is 648 but that maybe because I only record q9/10's, possible that when I use to run the chests monthly with all accounts I had higher but if Red is saying 648 is highest he's seen I have no reason to think otherwise.
Edit - I have memories of items 660+ from quite some time ago, all my proof for this would have been long gone if I had any so best to stick with what Red says, entirely possible I'm missremembering

yeah, max ones are multiples of 8, since the formula goes (unid +rnd)×4 and rnd is in the realm of 1-unid.
