Problems with activation mails

  • Hello everybody,


    We've been having some issues with activation mails not being received - we're looking into this.
    In most cases, the email is being received but being marked as spam. So if you don't get it, be sure to check your spam-folder.


    I'm also activating all pending activations regulary, so if you haven't received it, you're most likely able to login an hour later.


    I'm sorry for the troubles - I'm working on a final solution for it!

  • Also had an issue with logging into my account. It would say that I logged in correctly, but wouldn't actually appear that I logged into my account. After two or so tries, I was able to successfully log in.

  • Is there a way to get it resend? I am not sure I am activated or not. One thing for sure I never got the mail. So I assume not... Is there a way to check it?


    Shasgaliel, if you can login, you are activated :)
    I manually activate any accounts that are in the queue, until this problem is solved. Working hard on it, but we're actually sending the mails - it's the receiving that's the problem, which is mostly caused by us being such a new website and us being marked as spam. I'm working hard on fixing this.

  • viagra is old news...you need the newer ones we get on guru, like the nike ones....or the buy this new cell phone (why are they calling them cell phones? no one uses them to call anyone anymore----)

  • Okay, we have moved servers today (that's why we had the downtime), and I've worked on a definitive solution for the activation (and other mails) issue.
    This should be solved now and emails should be going to your inboxes instead of going to the SPAM folder.


    Hopefully this solves the issue that we had!

  • We had a small window last night where no activation mails were sent.


    I have investigated this and manually sent all users an email and activated them.


    This issue should now be solved.

  • This issue has plagued us for months, but I'm glad to say that it should be fully fixed as the root issue has been found.
    Furthermore, the entire set-up of the email system has been changed.


    All activation mails (and further, all mails sent by the server) should now arrive.
    The issue had to do with a bug in a certain piece of software that was quite hard to spot.


    I now officially live in /var/log/syslog.

  • And another change, since we kept on having problems, I have implemented a mailing service.


    Normally, all mails should be sent now.
