Well there is the matter of blue and purple q8/16 darkwing defenders very likely originating from the EoTN beta. Perhaps this mystery Eternal comes from the same source or time period? I don't know, it's a bit of a reach I suppose. But if that was the case it should've probably accepted a shield handle.

It does not accept a shield handle. So I guess we can rule out a bugged insc drop too.

I'm very curious if anyone could help me figure out where this little anomaly could've potentially dropped.
I've asked around but can't seem to get any closer to the source. So i'm calling upon the help of the experts!


The most plausible theory i've heard thus far is a keyless chest in uw/topk. Could they potentially have dropped naked purple shields?

Edit: It does accept dyes so this proves it is infact prenerf?

q9 Zodiac Staff = This one is prenerf and therefore has some value. Around 2-4a ~ ish tops imo as the mods are pretty ass.
q8 15^hex Zodiac Axe = 20-30a ~

q8 14wE Zodiac Axe = 10-20a ~

q8 14^50 Shadow Blade = 15-20a ~

q8 Storm 20u50 = 30-40a ~

It's nice to get a gold q8 drop but the result is just always so predictable

Nah there is no chest spawn nearby on this side. And hypothetically speaking if that was the case why would they exclusively be using dervishes? They're definitely botting this group of Jade Brotherhood. I've farmed here for a year or 2 now. I've checked different districts on multiple occassions and have'nt noticed any bots until recently. And it just so happens around the same time they showed up there have been an influx of q8 items with skins that primarily drop from, you guessed it, Jade Brotherhood foes.

Furthermore i've spoken to the seller of the q8 Duskblade and the Dadao Sword, and he actually admitted to it.

I would'nt have made this thread if I was'nt sure of it.

Those stopped dropping in 2006.

This group of Jade Brotherhood (tied to the Missing Daughter quest) has the potential to drop max req8 swords, shields and foci. And with the higher gold droprates in hardmode, this is probably one of the best spots to farm req8 items. Not to mention the skins that drop here are some of the best Cantha has to offer Diamond, Iridescent, Bladed Shield, Dusk Blade, Shinobi Blade, Katana, Broadsword, Paper fan, Paper Lantern, Jug etc.. can all drop here in max req8.
I've not had too much luck farming here my self except for a few gold q8 foci drops. But thought it was worth sharing.
