The practical implementation is easy as I outlined and yes it only solves the specific problem of bots existing. That's all I'm saying.
It doesn't make them money. It doesn't remedy the economic imbalance that has been created by bots. It doesn't solve anything other than them existing.
You don't need super powers to identify bots. You need eyes and about 65IQ to get 99.9% accuracy and then let support deal with the 0.1%. From the recent polices of adding without asking 2fa to accounts clearly anet don't give a single solitary fuck about causing problems for support or indeed preventing innocent people playing if its obstructs what they want to implement.
I agree though, the problem has gone on for so long many of its effects are now very difficult if not impossible to undo. However surely better late than never applies here?

Lots of talk about bots, I suggest the following 4 step plan:
Step 1: Hire some cheap dude to work 1 hour a week (or find 1hour in somebody's schedule) or ill gladly do it for free
Step 2: Instruct them to use said hour a week to run around towns (a short list can be made cause we know where they are) and identify bots
Step 3: Get Dhuum to swing his scythe on identified bots
Step 4: Give support some work to do from the very tiny amount of false positives you are going to generate from steps 1-3Within a couple weeks of this a huge portion of bots are gone and the incentive to reestablish lost bots is almost 0 because there is quick and definitive consequences. You might even get most of this outcome just from an announcement of the policy / even 1 hour a month will likely achieve the same thing. If you know your bot is only going to last 30 days before you have to buy another do you really still decide to do it?
Yes very determined people will continue the practice and yes lots of bots don't frequently zone in an out of a town and they wont be so easy to detect but its a super easy, low tech and cheap solution to the bulk of the problem.
Clearly Anet don't want to stop bots on a large scale otherwise they would because its really not hard, expensive or time consuming.
The consequences of stopping bots in a big way is another matter which I have purposely ignored. Simply putting my opinion out there about you can stop them if you wanted. -

So I was looking for something else, scanning for a mod through piles of weapons. Did a proper double take "wait a second" moment
I have no idea how I acquired that sundering or how long I've had it. Not something I buy or trade ever and anything prenerf would never be left on the account it was on. Anybody lost one? -

-1. i didnt need to take a hench from a town, as stated. i could have just stood there with the non hench npcs k wording foes that come too close, up until level 15. i dont need henches to get up to any of the levels in the vid. i just used them for convenience.
Correct. You didn't need to but you did. Correct again you triggered the scenario in which you knew violence would occur. Correct a 3rd time you did it for convenience. Like somebody killing a dog they didn't want to look after, that was also convenient for them.
2. property rights are a fanciful bs idea created by the government and its a conspiracy.
I guess I can come to your house and take your stuff and there is no problem.
-3. ACTUALLY it is the enemy npcs who are trespassing on OUR property (ascalon).
So there is no such this a property rights but Ascalon is somebody's property?
. Pick 1 dude and stop the double think.
1. actually, i did not initiate the conflict at all. all i do is walk from one point to another, and then baddies start attacking me and my friends. its the baddies that are initiating the conflict.
You initiated the conflict when you trespassed. Burglar enters your home uninvited and with unknown intentions. (Doing nothing more than walking from one point to anther you might say) You use force to make him leave (aka morally righteous self defence). He is at fault not you.
-3. bro whats wrong with self interest
Nothing whatsoever provided you do so peacefully. Hiring a hitman to help you kill someone is clearly not peaceful or aligned with the non aggression principle that "pacifism" is built on
-

and btw! morally speaking, lets say u have a trolley approaching a fork in the tracks. lets say u have an enemy approaching an npc. i just stood there, i didnt do anything, and the npc k worded an enemy, and i got exp. am i a bad person for not running away faster and not getting exp?
You set the proverbial trolley on the track yourself. You took a henchmen from the town and violated the aforementioned enemies property rights. At this point you are trespassing and he has the right to defend himself from your aggression. You initiated the conflict for your own self interest. Happy to watch murder at the hands of your hired thug so long as it served your goals. You are most certainly a very naughty boy

So as Anet refuses to add new content we must make our own. Decided to embark on a nostalgia type challenge with my friend Suz to get some OG vibes (Warriors obviously picked). Didn't really intend to make a post about it but its continued for a while now and thought it worth sharing, maybe others will join or try something similar. CRIM stands for Core-Rainbow-Iron-man which roughly describes what we set out to do. An Ironman duo with the standard no trading, no storage ect but with the added restrictions of core skills only and play rainbow style hero's. We have been making rules up as they came up and just went with what seemed appropriate to try and balance "playing like Guild Wars is just Prophecies but in the other campaigns". General starting goal was to see how hard it would be and see what end game content we could do.
General Ironman Rules we following:
No storage / material Storage
No Player to player trading (Apart from each other)
No /bonus
No mercenary heroes
Can use all traders including from Guild hall
Can do content in any order / start in any campaign
All drops / rewards game wide allowed (Briefly considered gear only from proph but that seemed to be way to grindy to be fun)
Core Restrictions:
Core/Prophecies skills only on players and Hero (No Anniversary / PvE)
No consumables or summonsRainbow Restrictions:
Maximum 2 of each profession allowed in party.
Hero Elite must be of their Primary Profession (We ignored this for missions where a derv or para is required)
Builds must be majority comprised of skills of its primary profession. (2-3 skills from secondary profession is about the max we said was cool)
No duplication of elites within party
Generally play hack and slash with front, mid and backline setup where possibleStory so far:
Made matching warriors in Factions, level 20, max armor, did a few missions (currently at Dragons Throat)
Made a start in EOTN and got a few hero (Suz did ALOT of farming here early on to get team gear)
Finished FoW in NM which was our first plan of things to do once we had a team
Dozens of failed attempts at FoW HM, can very carefully get to battlefield but the skele groups were to much at the time
Completed NF, few wipes in missions but overall wasn't to bad and now have some improved gear
Builds:
This is the current general team composition although does get moved around a fair bit and has changed a fair bit from the early days.
Minions get dropped for a UA healer in places. In low level areas BiP is replaced with FoC or with zhed nuker ect
Think we been pretty thorough with making sure its only core skills, if anybody can find a mistake please say.
Future plans:
Finish campaigns
Improve gear (mostly weapons)
Get a hammer build option going for warriors
Try some dungeons
Have another go at FoW HM
Find some solo / duo farms to do
Maybe look at maxing some titles
Generally play the game, complain how bad warrior is / how only core skills limits capabilities -
Another iron GWAMM project ?
Not planned to be a gwamm. Considering the limitations I put on it I'm not sure it's possible. Maybe....

Random thought. I miss the good old days when we farmed greens. Solution: Add a 1% chance for greens to drop a Q8 version.
-
does it or does it not have an insc slot though?
It does
-
-
-
Any skin for 1 collection but also looking specifically for barbed so I have Q8 in white, blue, purple and gold so it was a double "fuck you" from GW today

those are rookie numbers

To merch a Q3 would be blasphemy
