nah - he purchased it and made a nice screen with a oni. if you notice:
1) the oni isn't dead, hence no drop yet
2) the item is identified, hence no fresh drop
3) the player is wielding the oni blade, hence it is not on the floor
4) the background of the item stat window is different than the surroundings, hence it is placed into the pic via paint.
max q7s do not drop anymore.

Why do some higher maguuma areas drop q8, but supposedly not others then?
I know many say chests within a "geographic area" have the same level, then often hear maguuma *isn't* all the same.
maguuma chests are lvl 17 and hence drop 22-38g unid value. hence max q8s (dropping at ~33g depending on weapon type) are possible. certain areas in maguuma drop armor pieces which drastically loweres the chance for weapon drops in general and hence also the chance for max q8s - but they can drop everywhere - they are just very rare and their rarity varies depending on surrounding foes (not due to their level but due to if they drop armor pieces). to check for that you can run 100chests each in different areas and compare the unid value distribution.

My want for shaoshang is because the level range is a bit higher, so maybe hm drops would be better (if there was a chest)
the lvl of mobs has no influence on drops whatsoever. locked chest in starter area is lvl 22 and will always drop same stat ranges at same chances

thanks for noting and posting here Aliss and also to ondenoire and mossonbarkoncommand for digging the soutces of these. Indeed there is quite some collector, weaponsmith and quest reward items that are "better" than drops can get anymore. This points in the direction, that their stats were all manually spezified and that the loot mechanics weren't respected by the developers doing that. This yields the question why. Maybe the loot system is not as transparent as one would hope...

other than that nahpui quarter mission all mobs drop cele weps, whereas the starlight (that drop the staves) are somewhat tricky to farm.
I think VwK will always be kind of a boring build due to its nature. nestlings are a classic, all types of warriors and assassins (minotaur, star blade, vermin, start of moddok ...) and some rangers are farmable. 300Hp, 55HP and a standard defense build can bring a bit of variation.

using deaths charge at the first group of mobs to get up the hill saves you another 10sec per run, which adds up if going for treasure hunter here. the chest/time is faster if you chose option 1. it indeed is a fast yet very unexciting run - but at least the runes pay for some of the invest

gold insc foci usually sell for 25-200e. I would aim for 1a and be happy for anything above
it is one of the inherent mods only coming on blue items. the other is increased sale value. on insc items they drop in all rarities.
and on blue items it is relatively common.
