Hello everyone,
After giving it a lot of thought, I've decided that I'll be stepping back from Guild Wars and retiring from the game for the most part.
Over the years, I've enjoyed sharing builds, discussing ideas, and contributing what I could to the community. When I first started posting content, my goal was simple: I wanted to share things I found interesting and hopefully help other players enjoy the game as much as I did.
Unfortunately, things changed over time. My old YouTube channel eventually fell apart, and the landscape around content creation has become increasingly complicated.
More importantly, however, I've come to realize that the social media side of content creation was affecting me in ways I didn't expect. The constant focus on views, likes, engagement, forum activity, and other metrics gradually became something I paid more attention to than I ever intended. What started as a hobby centered around sharing builds slowly turned into something that wasn't always healthy for me.
I never set out looking for popularity or recognition. I simply wanted to contribute to a game and community I cared about. Over time, though, I found myself becoming increasingly invested in numbers and feedback loops that were taking a toll on my well-being. For that reason, stepping away feels like the right decision.
This isn't meant to be a dramatic farewell though, and I might still pop in from time to time. But as far as actively creating content and maintaining a public presence around Guild Wars goes, I'm choosing to step back and focus on other things.
Thank you to everyone who watched a video, tried a build, left feedback, or simply shared a conversation along the way. I genuinely appreciate it.
Take care, and all the best to the Guild Wars community.
K ~
